Fighting redfish are fun. Sight casting is very exciting.
Consistently catching trout is really fun.
Fried trout and reds on the half are great.

What is wrong? Not close enough to the dorsal fin?

I like catching reds but I rarely keep many, much rather eat trout

No more than I have been getting to fish lately I would be happy with either reds or specks!

sightfishing reds in the shallows is all I think about lol. I'd take one good one caught like that over a limit blindcasting.

Specks are much more of a challenge to fish IMO, especially bigger ones.

Agree. But when you hit a school of specks, that's easy fishing.

Same with reds though....kinda. It's not like you can just stumble into a school of specks, it takes time and effort to pattern them before the "easy fishing" starts.
