Sure they do, baw. Somb will chunk hulls 30 yds, too.

223 is not an effective deer round. Ball ammo will pas through without the deer noticing, soft point will splatter about skin deep

Yes I have killed deer with a 223, and I have had a couple walk off wounded

That's why I want the Mini-30. It shoots 7.62x39 rounds. Plenty enough bullet for deer.

It just lost out to the AR platform.

There is a very interesting thread on rokslide regarding .223's being used for just about everything (up to moose).

Bullet selection and shot placement get REALLY important, but with the right stuff those guys are having great results.

It'll run you $200 more than a decent AR.

I own a Mini 30..
Fine weapon that will still be shooting in 500 years.
Thing is solid as a freakin Tank.
Weights a ton compared to my 6,8 AR and carry's poorly.
That AR with a 2 point sling and I can brush bust for hogs all day long , just rides behind my back real nice and swings up quick.
I'll take the AR

I love mine

The only issue I have is that it won’t shoot 5.56 but otherwise, it’s a great gun

Most of the deer that I track with my dogs are shot with a 30-06. Shot placement is everything.

Sure an AR can be accurate with a red dot scope. So is a mini. Build has nothing to do with reliability of the platform and base weapon. Same round, same round capacity. MUCH more simple and easy firearm to deal with.
