I have tried really hard to understand how this happens so much. I need someone to explain it to me like I'm a dumbass. Are these people backing their boat down to the water and just jumping out without putting it in park and hopping in the boat? How do you even get the vehicle to sit still on the ramp without either putting it in park or using the ebrake?

Many times it’s the realization that they are paying $20,000 in interest on that F250 platinum with matching truck nutz.:)

That’s my question too. I would love to know how the vehicle stayed stopped long enough for the fool to get in the boat.

One of the comments on twitter said since the Skeg was down that maybe the guy had only put it in neutral and the skeg held it, then when he got on the front of the boat it lowered the front of the trailer which pulled the skeg up and thus removed the ‘brake’. lol.

Feel bad for the guy, this is why I ALWAYS use the E brake and my dad always gives me a hard time.

I can see it happening, I’ve been in a hurry all too often and jumped out trying to rush.

I’ve always wondered, if you are sitting on the boat could you not just turn it on and pop it in gear and hold the truck while someone hit the Ebrake and put it in gear? Never tried it but I assume it would work? I don’t usually Have the key in putting in, but pulling out I usually leave it in until the trailer is pulled up to wherever we prep the boat and trailer for driving down the road.

Back in 70’s dated girl whose dad had camp at False River at the landing (Bonaventures,I think was name).Anyway,we used to sit and watch people launch their boats and laugh our arse off.Forget to put plugs in,sink their boats.Fall in the water getting in their boats, fall in the water getting out of the boat,Some of them couldn’t back up their boats to save their life, take them 20 tries, back their vehicles off in the water.
Then there was the nitwits that would back up their boats to the water without getting their stuff ready, spend 15 minutes leisurely putting their stuff in the boat, people waiting would get mad and then there would be big cuss-fight.Never saw any actual fist fights but came close few times.

Weird twitter following you have. Suspect.

Regarding the video, my first instinct would be to not jump out of the boat.

But I'm not a mongo, so whatever.

And why was he recording at that moment to begin with?

Until the incident, there was nothing noteworthy to begin with that would have incited a person to start recording, or was there?

You’re missing the second half of this story. That SUV was electric hybrid and burst into flames when it was towed out of the water.
