ETA, ………….Daggers are $259 today. Thought this would be a good addition to the thread.
Added to this old threadvvvvv
They aren’t getting cheaper.
So I might buy one for each kid.
Do you foresee them getting up in the $600s in the next 10 years?
Is this an over reaction? Or should I just wait until they are old enough?
10yo
9yo
6yo
And
4 yo.

of course.... because of inflation.

or Hi-Point people.

or S&W, Sig, Springfield, etc.

Local mom and pops have them for about that or less. I think Glock will continue to pump out new gen's so I dont really see them going up too much. Could be wrong just my .02.

Pick up a blue label every year. There are ways to get them.
Glock prices are pretty steady, Glock actually enforces it's map policy. Academy is usually at MSRP though and mom and pop shops are a better option.

Buy scary looking rifles for yourself, and bequeath them to the children instead.

Bought my first Glock in early 90s. It was $500 back then

Seems kind of irresponsible to purchase glocks for kids that young. I would start the 10 year old off with a pellet gun and then work up to a .22 before I just jumped straight to a Glock.

I'd just go the aim surplus police trade in route if it were me.
I'm like 95% done buying new gun stuff. Very few people actually use it, most used stuff is practically brand new.

And no 4473!
I always tell people to stop whinging about whether the buy a Glock 17, a 19, a Springfield XD, blah blah. Just buy it. If you don't like it, someone will buy it from you (including me) for cash, for what you paid for it, even if I don't really want it.
With guns, people are locked in analysis paralysis. People spend less time buying trucks than they do guns.
Just buy. OP is not talking about *giving* them the guns at these ages, he's referring to buying them for future transfer to protect against price increases. The .22LR AR that my son lost in a boating accident was a Christmas present when he was 9 or 10, but it wasn't hanging out in his room.

Can get a psa dagger with ten mags and a case for under $400 when they run deals and it’s pretty much a Glock

All correct.
I often wonder what the next dominion-voted president will do with the second amendment.
Also, I did my analysis and ended up with glock 20 years ago.
I am now married to glock since I have 39 magazines. I dont feel like getting married to smith and Wesson M&p. Even though, I maybe wish I had.
Stopping at 9mm too. I’m not a plethora-of-caliber guy.

100% agree, pick one pistol caliber, *maybe* two rifle calibers for regular shooters, ignoring the safe queens.
I married Springfield.

Paid $600 for a 19 MOS about two or three years ago. The prices seem pretty stable.

I'd tend to agree. The week before the 2016 election I went on a buying spree, and it seems like ARs have gotten even less expensive. Mags and ammo are the problem. Although, I'm buying "service grade" or Mil-spec level stuff without bells and whistles other than basic night sights. They're tools, I'm not getting all Les Baer on carry items. Besides, leather holsters get expensive fast, and they have always had a long wait time.
Maybe invest in reloading equipment?

Are you dense or stupid? He’s asking if he should buy them for the kids now and hold on to them until they are old enough to use them…. Or should he wait and buy them in a few years when they are old enough to use them….
He isn’t buying them for the kids to take to the range today.

$500 for a new 9mm or .40 Glock has been standard for awhile, that's how much I paid for my Gen 3 19 almost 15 years ago.
If you're gonna buy one may as well spend an extra $40 to get a Gen 5 instead.

Suggest not. .40S&W is way snappier in any barrel length than .45ACP has been. Golden Saber in a .40S&W will blind you if it's not bright outside, too. Go euro-pellet or go American. Don't half arse it.

You have to buy the primers and powder when you see it even you don't really need it. Brass you can accumulate at shooting ranges.

Less of a decision, in general. Large primers, just buy. There's no indecision over Glock/S&W/Springfield, it's just "primers."
