Dat’s a Pygmy. In my experience, they sound like a grasshopper vs a snake.

In case you missed it, that's most definitely a Pygmy Rattlesnake.

And on record, the distribution map in the wiki is highly inaccurate, as I can personally attest that they're quite thick through central OK into western OK and north at very least into southern Kansas if not farther.

I'm in the northern part of central OK and relocate at least a couple dozen of them from my job every summer, sometimes hundreds in a year.

Pygmy rattlesnake

They are adorable - I had one as a pet a few years back.

I haven’t seen a ground rattler in many years. Same story with blunt tail moccasin. Climate probably got em. I have a outside cat named Climate. He’s from Union Parish and swears his dad was a black panther.

The old ground rattler I swear that’s a DeKay's Brown Snake.

I grew up catching snakes and that’s what the old timers used to say to keep you from messing with snakes??
