Shotgun home defense wall penetration test of assorted loads

I've had an unintended discharge in a room with drywall before. 9mm. Fmj. Punched through the first layer and smacked the second.

Granted the walls had 10-15 coats of paint on them, but it didn't punch through.

For the least penetration through walls-7 1/2 birdshot

For killing a motherfricker on the other side of a closet, 0 buckshot, 00 and #4 shot

and then when you compare that to what a bullet from a rifle or hand gun does and how far it penetrates and your argument is shown to be stupid since the shotgun is "by far" the safest choice
