What am I missing here? They've had TRPs for 20+ years. Were they discontinued recently and now being brought back? wtf

Discontinuing the TRP was stupid. They were a nice option for someone who didn't want to spend 3-4K on a Wilson or Nighthawk but wanted Front Strap checkering, semi custom frame to Slide fit and a 4lb trigger out of the box etc.

The new models are 45 only. Hope they bring a 9mm TRP to market. I will be all over a bobtailed TRP in 9mm.

Classic Firearms usually has the best overall coverage of Shot show on YouTube. They basically go to every booth over 3-4 days.

YT also shadowbans the shite out of Shot coverage, so you'll have to search it out on your own.

straight pull rifle

I dont understand why pumps are not preferred to straight pull bolts. The action is nearly 100% identical, but a pump is IMO much more intuitive. Remington 7600 is an excellent rifle design and I don't know why they weren't more popular than the bolt actions.

I thought so to, went to their website and I dont think theyve ever made a commander sized TRP before. So I think thats the new one.

There are plenty of polymer guns in 10mm and a bunch of single stack 1911s

Yeah, most of the polymer guns seem to have issues covering the bullet weight range of 10mm. Many struggle with hardcast.

A 2011 double stack is what I really want, but they are very hard to come by.

I was hoping for some more variety.

I have an EMP4 carry contour. It’s a nice CCW. Nice to see them bringing the contour back.

RIA makes a double stack 10mm. It’s thiccc and gets very mixed reviews. My wife bought me a 9mm double stack from them that we’ve probably put 2000 rounds through at this point and it’s been very reliable. But the grip is pretty damn big. It’s not like the 2011 STI made back when they made them. The frame on the RIA guns is more like a traditional 1911 frame where it’s all steel with panels instead of just the frame with a full polymer grip the 2011 has.

I've seen some videos on it, and you know how these youtube reviews are, hard to find "who is real and who's for sale."

Its tempting. I'd probably have it polished up and recoated. It is available locally through Sportsmans Warehouse. If its ever in stock, might put my hands on it.

I've heard the mags need to be replaced or modified to shoot reliably.

Downshift, the pumps are less accurate than a bolt.

I have have some mags for mine that I don’t even know where. They aren’t oem but they’re some sort of para p18 knock off. All of them, including the oem mag have been great. I must’ve just gotten lucky.

Easier to stay on target with a straight pull. Pump makes you mover your support hand and breaks down your position. And if youre weak you look funny.

Any thoughts on the savage impulse? I’ve been looking for a “ranch” style rifle, the ruger mini-30 was my first thought but I’ve heard it has accuracy issues. Then I came across the impulse “hog hunter” which is an 18” barrel straight pull.

I've recently been in the market and have seen "ranch style." What does that exactly mean?

I'd like to be in the 6k or so range if I need to be. If nothing eye popping at SS id look at some lightly used ones with warranty left. I like the size of the NOX35 but I wouldn't mind being able to record. Looked a little at the Iray bolt series too but nothing real in depth yet.

I plan on getting a 10mm this spring. The options are kind of disappointing.

There are plenty of 10 mm options out there with more coming this year. I love my 10s ... best semi cartridge pistol caliber ever made.

There's no reason they should be. Both have free floated barrels threaded into recievers of similar stiffness with either rotating or cam locking mechanism. Mechanically they're nearly identical. Both need a slide to unlock the bolt. The pump is IMO much more intuitive to operate.

I know of two remington 7600's that are as accurate as any off the shelf bolt action I've ever shot. Just a simple gripe of mine - I don't get why the 7600 was ever the only mainstream pump rifle.
