Body weight threw me off at first. I was expecting 230-240. I forget Texas deer are smaller then in the Mississippi delta area.

Great deer and congratulations

What’s wrong with Ultra? One of my favorite, the other is PBR.

Dude, how is it that green there??? Our place looks like scorched earth.

I think we had a total of an inch and a half of rain from June until October spread out so that nothing more than a tenth at any given time.

Nice deer, did you age him? He looks old to me.

We got a real good rain since opening day and greened it up.

I didn’t age him but he’s mature. I figure he’s 6.5 to 7.5 from the pics I have of him from last year.

Rize,

What are you shooting?
Fence or not? If so, how much average?
Do y’all have antler restrictions?
Do you cull?

Just curios. Congrats on a good un.

That’s an Alamo Precision 6.5 PRC with a Swaro Z6 5-30x50. APR2 action, Proof Barrel, Trigertech trigger, and an AG Composite carbon fiber stock.

Low fence

No antler restrictions and just try and shoot mature deer.

We don’t cull. I’ll have a buddy shoot a 3.5 or 4.5 year trash buck just to keep the numbers in check or I will take one for meat if I can’t find a deer I want to put on the wall.

I’m very selective on what I shoot and typically I only kill one animal per year. Last year I shot a Nilgai Bull so I passed on that buck.

Very nice! That picture in back of sxs doesn’t do him justice. That’s why didn’t think he is big as he was. Hell of a stud!!!!

Great deer Rize.

How are you liking the 6.5 prc?

Thinking about building one at some point. Would be a Bighorn action or a Defiance with proof carbon barrel.

Haven’t really had much of a chance to shoot it all that much but so far I like.

I’m a fan of the 6.5’s for Texas deer.
