Why are we blaming the gun? It was the mother/father lack of supervision for a nut job that caused all this

It's some peoples hobby. It would be pretty bad to them.

Just because it wouldn't be so bad for you doesn't mean everyone else feels the same way

Oh and the power just went off in my barracks complex so it looks like the end is nigh. I'm gonna make a run to the arms room I hope you have nice neighbors with AR's

I'm sure there would be disappointed hobbyists but they'd get over it.

It would be the beginning of the end for gun ownership in this country.
When the Semi Auto Pistol is used for a crime...BANNED. No more SA pistols.
When the Revolver is used for a crime...BANNED.
Next thing, we are only allowed to own "Black Powder" primitive rifles for "Hunting" since that is the true spirit of the 2nd amendment and the founders could never have conceived of modern weaponry....BS- Anything and Everything was legal to possess and build when the 2nd was written.

That statement is pretty ridiculous.
The government can do whatever they want and you'll just have to get over it

Silencers, suppressor, grenade launchers, none of that is illegal if you get the stamp. 6 month process usually.

Nobody will have a good reason for this. They'll just say " It's err raights! Don't be treadin on mah constitutional raights!"
frick the constitution its the biggest sham ever. The govt shouldn't tell the individual what they will always have the "right" to because by defining these rights they just give themselves the power to take it away should they feel the need.
the govt should:
A) build roads
B) have an army to:
i) protect its people from other nations
ii) protect its people from its own people. meaning if you harm someone else they come in and regulate.
they shouldn't be in charge of schools, health care, mail delivery, power plants, "pubic" transportation, or any other BS they want to act like they are providing because they are the all might all caring government here to save the people.
if the people want a bus system they will build it.
so getting back to the point it is my right as an individual to own whatever the hell i want so long as i dont use it to harm others. if i do use it to harm others its the right of those others to come in and regulate on my arse. Be it death, jail, fines or pink butterfly tattoos to my face.
We would all be better of if the government got out of our way.

Hey,love shooting an AR. Have shot many semi and full auto weapons and it was cool but that's about it. Anyone claiming to need a semi auto weapon such as these is just retarded.
that is the dumbest statement i have ever read.
no i dont "need" a semiauto gun. i also dont need clothes, a car, a house, a tv, a record player, a couch, a laptop, a internet, a electricity, a cup, a fork, a chair, a driveway, a lamp, a desktop pc, a ipad, a bed, a microwave, a lawnmower, a ceiling fan, a dishwasher, a stove, a picture hanging on my wall, a coffee table, a nother lamp... and so on.
shooting weapons is a hobby just like playing golf or flying RC airplanes.... when you have a hobby you are going to get as many toys as you can possibly think of if you really enjoy the hobby.. you will never be satisfied and you will want to continue.

and btw I think that people like meauxjeaux should be able to kiss is sister and snort coke off his 2nd cousins arse... if that is what he wants to do...
drugs should be legal... regulate like alcohol if by snorting a line you go out and do something to put others at harm... you gonna pay.

to me, i own weapons to have fun shooting... sure. but i first and foremost bought mine because our founding forefathers genuinely believed we all needed to own them. i think that burden and responsibility should be taken by everyone.
until utopia exists and humans have evolved into a truly civil race, then it is best to own firearms.
since that shite won't ever happen, i'd rather have mine and not ever need them, than not have them at all if bad things ever happen.
but DAMN it's fun to go shooting.

agreed. the government has ZERO right to tell me what i can and can not put into my body.
My rights END where i infringe on someone else's rights or safety. THAT should be the end of the story.

I really wish the gun culture would stop using the "i own a gun so i can protect myself" line... They say the 2nd amendment is there so the people can protect themselves from an oppressive govt... well number 1 our govt is already oppressive. and 2. they have shite like this.
and this
*deleted too big but it was an army tank*
i dont care how many ARs the people have.. they will never be able to stand up to the govt.
Now i know you didnt claim you own a gun for protection from the govt... but you basically implied that society is an unstable force that you need to protect yourself from... by saying that all you do is define why you think you have the right to own a gun.. when you define something it gives the other side something to counter with... they can say.. well if guns were banned no one would have them so society couldn't fight...
the proper way to look at this issue, as with most, is by the libertarian view point.. or a explained by me.... "Who made you ruler to tell me what i can and cant do"
eta: shooting is damn fun
