Definitely a Yellowfin. Or maybe a Sea Hunt. Maybe not?

Live in the DMV and that’s where I’ll mainly be going.

I've never fished up there, but wouldn't you want something like a pilot house, at least, to keep you out of the elements?

You have more explaining to do.

You wanna boat ride?
Actually fish?
Bring clients?
You got some prime trim to showcase on the vessel?

Explain before i give my answers

Anyone recommend a saltwater fishing boat,

does not compute....

If looking for a big CC "bay" boat, I'd be exploring the following in no particular order:

27 Sea Vea
26 Yellowfin Hybrid
25 Conch
26 Pathfinder
25 Contender Bay

The boats in the 28-32 range I would not consider "bay" boats but offshore and/or cruising boats....heavier/twin engines, etc.

If i had your money:
blue wave 2800 Makaira
crevalle 28 HBW
Black jack 256
Caymas 26 or 28 single

Me
I would buy a good condition used Cape Horn 31 or Jupiter 30 with trolling motor to fish offshore. They will both get you home better than a 28 Hybrid. I would just charter inshore, it's cheaper than bluewater charter.

All depends on budget, used vs new, what you want to do with it. If it was me (these will have to be used to stay under $200k):

Onslow Bay 27T
Contender 31 open or 31T
Contender 30ST or 32ST
Cape Horn 31T
Yellowfin 29 or 31
Seavee 290
Bluewave Makaira 2800 (more hybrid than CC)

Also LOL at sea hunt and yellowfin being posted in the same sentence

I know a good looking used 34 venture sold not long ago for something like 150k in Marrero with non-clapped out engines. Seems like something along those lines would be a good thing to shop for.

34 venture is definitely another good candidate.

Can definitely find a good used boat in the 28-35ft range for under $200k if you shop around enough and don’t mind putting a little work into it.

Seems like Florida is the Hotspot for used boats in that size range under 200k. Looks like there are some good boats for sale over there with low engine hours, obviously repowered once or twice but I can't really comment on the pricing. I've never really paid a lot of attention to that market.

Something to note- not all of them come with trailers. A lot of people with boats that size keep them on lifts or at boat storage facilities.

Get a Cat Hull, you'll be able to draft less in most cases which will help in bays. You'll give up speed but the ride offshore foot for foot with the mono hulls isn't close to comparable. World Cat or Glacier Bay would be the top choices but there are others like Twin Vee, AmeraCat, Sea Cat, etc. that won't cost an arm and leg like a Freeman or Invincible. Something like the below. Also check out facebook pages for the different manufactures, both the official ones and owners pages and you'll find better deals then going through dealers in most cases, I'm talking pre-owned boats.

If you find a clean World Cat 320EC let me know, been looking for a while.
