Maybe thinking of the Shimano "SLX-DC"

SLX model/series with the Digital Control chip

I guess that is it. Whatever the one with the microchip that keeps you from backlashing, buy that one.

Why are you telling him not to do Baitcasters?

So, went and put my hands on the Dobyns Fury M and MH casting rod and it didn't feel any different than my MH Shimano SLX casting rod. So, I think I'm back to the drawing board for my next casting rod.

If I have a 7 2 MH Extra Fast casting rod that I love, what would be the next rod to go with?

Buy a falcon rod. I think they are great.

A 6'8-7'2 medium, moderate-fast baitcaster to throw topwater/jerkbaits. Possibly glass blank.

A 7'6-8'0 medium spinning to throw weightless flukes and DOAs

The Battle 3 DX is very nice. I've caught plenty of snook trout and a few reds on a 2500 with 10# braid. Very smooth drag and solid reel.
The Penn baitcasters are nice but will use up your budget quick. I still like the Revos and picked up an Ardent that is very light with a lot of power.
I'm fishing Powell Max rods.
I also have a lamiglass drop shot rod with a okuma inspira 20 for trout. It's caught a few keeper snook too.

I think I'm gonna splurge for the G Loomis E6X Inshore for both rods.

Taiwa Coastal BC on a E6X 7' Medium Moderate Fast
Taiwa BG2500 on a E6X 7' Medium Moderate Fast

Thoughts on this? I'll have a different setup for popping corks. So, this'll be for 1/4oz jigs and maybe some redfish spoons or topwater for reds.

That sounds like two great setups. I’m sure you won’t be limited by your equipment.

I have 2 of these. They work great. I just wipe them down when I get home. Haven't had to open them yet.
