Crop-ee = a tasty member of the sunfish family, caught by knowledgeable and handsome fisherman of AL.

Crap-ee = small fish caught by silly hicks and yankees on fishing programs like "In Fisherman". Good for a laugh by real fishermen.

White perch = member of the bass/stripe family.

Saucalait = Unfortunate, french, pantywaist name given to the crap-ee by drunk people in Loosiana.

white perch here in cenla. I have an uncle who is a marine biologist for the state and he calls them sac-a-lait. I've never gotten up the nerve to argue with him.

White Perch is a totally different fish. It's found on the Eastern coast.

Wiki it.

Grew up calling them Specks in NELA. (Of course, my grandfather also called bass "green trout".

I usually call them white perch now.
