I apologize since staging may be the wrong term. Since the area is very close to New Orleans, which has the largest number of infected people, the park is being used as a possible overflow isolation area for suspected cases of COVID-19.

The only reason I could think of is they start using Wildlife agents for LEO and relief efforts. New York is doing this as we speak.

thats what hunting season is for. Its March- fishing season. No point at all in shutting down boat launches.

quote:Bayou Segnette State Park is closed because they're using the cabins and RV camper spots as a quarantine area. So I can understand closure of that boat launch and other ones at state parks with facilities being used for quarantine areas.
Just curious, what are they staging?
But the vast majority of WMA's and public launches don't have any such facilities nearby, so there's no reason to shut those down.

That’s ridiculous. How the hell will that prevent the spread. Another boater pulling up and sneezing on me?
If they do that, it's not about the virus

Where at? I use the one across the Bayou from North American, I think the Parish owns it.

When turkey season opens and I’m the only one on Kisatchie I’ll be like “hell yeah!”

THe reason they would shut them down is that they don't have the money or man power to enforce/patrol. Thats my reasoning.
