My buddy just bought a used one for $425-$450, I forget the exact price.

You'd need to find a heavily used one for that price.

I could possibly stomach 450.

Tried like hell to talk myself into a 9mm but I just can't do it. My .357 fetish is incurable.

If they made a 3.5" I'd want that one

Not sure on what grips it has but the Pachmayr Decelarator wil save your palm. The rosewood grips are not shooter friendly if you are shooting more than a cpl times....bad arse gun though

After a quick 'net survey, looks like avg selling price used is bout $450. Will prolly take some luck and patience on your part to get to $400. Good luck. I need to add the SP101 to my bucket list of guns!

Shot 60 rounds through one just like that yesterday. It had a 7.5" barrel I think. Kicks very nicely.

Big holes in plywood.

Got home this morning and me and the boy went and shot it. It kicks but really not any harder than my .357

I thought about this post because we took and shot holes in some plywood

It will sit in the safe and just be an addition to my arsenal.

Well the reason I wanted the SP was to have something I could use for a CCW if I ever get the permit. I don't think I could do it with a 6 shooter

They really aren't. It's the one thing about the gun I'd change. They look great, but I feel like my palm starts to sweat immediately upon seeing it/thinking about it.

Gotta let it roll back a little bit. If you hang on to it for deal life and try to hold it down it's going to hurt.

I never squeeze the shite out of it or anything.
Roll back is a good way to put it.

I've seen women shoot this thing and not freak out. It ain't all that bad. It' just the grip isn't exactly a 'grip'. I'd rather the rubber grip. And my pinkie finger kind of hangs off the bottom. Not a problem. I'm sure it's that way for most.

It is. Shooting a single action hogleg is much different than a double action in how the gun reacts in your hand. Putting those decelerator grips lets you hold on to it more like a double action and makes it much easier to shoot for somebody who isn't used to it.

They kick like hell either way for sure.
