If you want a 7'+ rod for frogging and pitching, you're going to want a heavy action with a fast or extra fast tip. I don't think they make a 7' heavy action rod in that price range.

Look at Cabelas, and Bass Pro brand rods, but again tough to find in that range.

Cabelas - Quantum Team KVD $39.99

i'd have different rods for frogging and flipping and punching. a punch rod will be closer to a good frog rod in terms of action and tip but i'd rather my frogging rod be shorter to walk it without hitting the water.

i like medium heavy / x fast for flipping/pitching. This would be with weights ranging from 1/16 to 3/4. I fish a bunch of veritas rods and think the are the best value for the money.

I got a punch rod being built from an mhx blank FP935. Its 7'9" Heavy Mod-fast tip. I wanted to try a different action to make sure the fish take the bait before I set the hook under the mats.

Frog rod i'd like around 7ft heavy/ fast tip. Honestly have yet to find the right one. I find the big heavy rods for slop frog fishing don't work well for ribbits.

But every brand is different. Veritas are on the heavy side and kistlers are on the lighter side as for as power.

7'6" Heavy you won't regret it. Frogging ain't a sensitivity issue but I also use my Villian just as much as my "real" Boyd Duckett for flipping and punching.

I bought a Kistler KLX frog rod earlier this year. It's by far the best frog rod I've used. It's got too much tip to be used for a TX rig rod though.

I almost got the magnesium, but the local Kistler rep got me a smokin deal on a few KLX's. I hear good things about the mags, I'll probably buy a few.
