quote:

According to police, the victim was traveling down Highway 78 east of Goodman Road when an altercation with the occupants of a truck started to escalate. As they approached the Highway 305 exit, the driver of the suspects' vehicle pulled out a gun and fired, hitting the victim in the wrist.

The victim's 12-year-old son was in the rear passenger seat at the time, but was not injured. The victim's injury was not life-threatening.

Be careful out there, baws.

I only posted it here because of the "I almost pulled my gun" thread.

I'm not sure how I'd react especially with either of my sons in the vehicle. A frickin rolling shootout at 70+ MPH seems like a less than ideal scenario.

How does a road rage incident “begin to escalate” before the shooting. I seriously doubt he just blew his horn and those kids shot him. Now those kids deserve to be prosecuted because you can’t just shoot people but I’m not buying the dad’s babe in the woods routine.

Tap brakes and put winch bumper hard into their rear quarter panel.

Slam on brakes and start firing through windshield.

Only four years older than the son on the back seat.

Reverend Ernest Watson says there's so much violence on the highways that he prays before he even touches his steering wheel.
Is this a local minister the paper got a quote from, or is he the victim, or associated with any of these people.

Are the two passengers being changed for murder so they'll talk, and testify against the driver? Because they didn't stop the driver? Doesn't seem like murder convictions would be easy to get for all three unless there's video of all three taking part in the process of the driver getting the loaded gun. Maybe it's registered to one, and one loaded or one handed it to the driver. Maybe the passengers were yelling shoot him? Maybe the underage guy was driving, and shot?

I like the amounts the judge set for their bail - $666,000, $444,000 and $444,444.

How do you charge all three with attempted murder right off the bat?

And this, exactly:

It appears that Olive Branch is incredibly dangerous, yet very efficiently policed.

Doesn't seem that hard to believe at all, just in my small part of the world we have had people shoot one another over.

Too much pepper on the Thanksgiving Turkey.

What channel the TV was going to be set to.

What school, team, car, truck, etc. was the best.

Cheating while playing monopoly.

Using a fishing pole without permission.

And many more.

Just for kicks Google the phrase "Man shoots after argument" the results will show that a person can get shoot over some pretty non-consequential things these days.

This is why I typically advise to my students to never use the horn unless absolutely necessary. You wouldn’t be escalating the conflict from a legal standpoint but you’re putting yourself in a dangerous position logically. People are truly insane enough to kill you for honking the horn - never underestimate it

This is happening where I live in Collierville, pretty big uptick in crime recently and they're usually jumping on the interstate heading back in to Memphis.
These 3 look straight outta Desoto though
