Personally, it's a bigger deal ammo wise than firearm wise. I'm not a Remington fan and have no desire to purchase a new firearm from them. I think I have a couple of 1100's that I purchased used. I don't use their rifle ammo so other than some impulse .22 I shouldn't have a problem honoring the boycott.

Virtually all my ammo is Remingtion except for my steel shot. Their steel shot ALWAYS hangs up in my Brownings. But I don't have to buy any ammo for a looooooooong time unless I get a new caliber that I don't currently have.

It is for me, too. I'm gonna miss those 150 grain, 30-06, Core-Lokt rounds. But...I'll get over it.

FWIW...one of the Remington replies is they are headquartered out of North Carolina but that they have facilities in Arkansas and Kentucky as well...any OB detective want to confirm this?

870 Remington Drive, Madison, North Carolina

The OB is taking down one of America's oldest gun manufacturers.

Yep. We're going to be hard pressed to walk the line on buying "new" from a manufacturer in a liberal-labeled state.

How many of their 1300 employes voted for a felt waking democrat who voted for the restriction?

Those employees should learn actions have consequences.

Then it should be very easy for them to come out and say they are moving manufacturing from NY to be closer to HQ in North Carolina. Even if it takes 5 years to accomplish to spread out the costs, the announcement would make waves politically in NY against Cuomo, Bloomberg, and others.

I don't need them to completely dump the NY plant today to make me get over it. Like someone said, this is something they could do by transitioning elsewhere and stopping selling to NY state.

But so far their response is to get on FB and cry.

So frick em. Won't be buying anything with Remington on it going forward till they demonstrate that they know which side of the bread the butter goes.

Which IMO makes them look more like a 13 year old girl than a multimillion dollar company

They are trying to hide behind their employees now and pull the sympathy card on everyone.

I guess they don't get the fact that they were riding the fence then, "BAM" all of a sudden they are staying and they have a new multimillion dollar contract to make rifles for the government from the plant that they were thinking about moving.

The fact they cannot see this is just astounding. People wouldn't be in such an uproar if the guns were being made in Arkansas and their ammo was coming out of New York with this new contract.

Problem is it's an obvious kickback for them staying and then they dump a large donation into NRA afterwards that just screams "please keep quiet for us in all this".

Either they have the worst possible coincidental timing ever, which I doubt, or they were bought to stay.

Somebody commented on the NRA hush money earlier in the thread. I'm about to go read up on the donation to educate myself on the details.

Here's a scenario, what if Remington were able to somehow release information regarding the plans/negotiations for the rifles at that plant that say, predated Sandy Hook?

Would that change things for you, and others in your opinion?

(This isn't directed directly at Scrowe btw)

Edited to fix the rifle/ammo typo.

If I'm following you, you're theorizing that the deal for the rifles (not ammo) was in play prior to Sandy Hook? I'll answer a question with a question; If your theory is correct, don't you think that they would be shouting this info from the rooftops?
