Aint no paradise for the Sportsman anymore. LA should come up with a new slogan. Our license plates are false advertising

Agreed. Most of my buddies leave the state for quality duck/goose hunts and/or fishing trips.

The LWLF Commission voted to allow pogie boats to reduce the buffer zone to 1/4 mile in certain areas (from the current compromised 1/2 mile buffer), despite clear data and testimony that this will negatively affect the state’s fishery…. Clear conflicts of interests and dirty politics on full display… in front of a packed house. Hopefully CCA will challenge this kangaroo court’s ruling in a real court. The people of Louisiana deserve better. Our State dirty politics have been on full display the last two weeks… It’s time to clean house, well beyond LSU!

If they are leaving this state for fishing trips, they must know how to fish.
I’m not up to speed on fresh water fishing, but inshore and offshore salt water fishing down here is still amazing.

#pogieparadise

I think somebody might’ve mentioned that today when they got up and spoke. It was some really good looking guy that coined the phrase.

This is absolute frickin horse shite and a slap in the face to anyone from the state of LA. These dudes in this commission have some serious explaining to do on judgement day and shame on them for allowing this shite. Seriously. How in the hell do these parasites sleep at night?

It is shite like this that makes all of these young people move out of LA once they can, all because of backwoods corrupt nepo baby greedy arse frickin politicians that only have an interest in themselves and not the people. Shame on them.

Only way this ends is to form a flotilla at Empire and block the boats from going out.

I like this. And during discovery we could find out who Omega is cutting checks to besides Landry and Fat Billy.

I'm going out on a limb here but IMHO it wouldn't have mattered if a million people had shown up their minds were made up before the meeting (or the checks had cleared the bank).

Every vote was bought and paid for, just no other way to say it. They took the recreational limits down in order to compensate for the by-catch and waste from the boats.

How good was it 20 yrs ago? How good will it be 20yrs from now? Lack of foresight and morals will see our fisheries collapse. Noticeable decline already. There is a reason these bloodsuckers have been forcefully removed from almost all other states. Go talk to people up in the Chesapeake. They are removing both forage and breeding stock in volume that one day may not be recoverable.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m pissed about this situation. I will be leaving the state in the next five years.
Fishing is very good currently. I do worry about fishing in the future.

I’ve already vowed to not launch out of plaquemine parish anymore. They don’t deserve my recreational angling money anymore. If I want to fish there I will launch elsewhere and make a long boat ride.

I hope everyone encourages any fishing tournaments whether for high school, memorial, medical related, redfish tour, etc., relocate said tournament to a parish more hospitable to recreational anglers.

We suspected but now know why the NOI wasn’t published ahead of the meeting.

The suggestion to help fund CCA for legal action is a good one. It may not go our way, but the discovery process would be interesting. If that’s possible. I’m not an attorney but would contribute.

Favoring two foreign owned companies over the interests of the citizens of Louisiana, who own the resource, is criminal.

Louisiana - get into politics and get rich.

I gave up on CCA doing more than sinking concrete and hosting banquets.

No good corrupt bastards. I heard the news on the way to dinner tonight and lost my damn appetite. I guess we should prepare for another creel reduction and legal size increase coming down the pike. I’d like to see AG Liz gain grounds to subpoena bank records, etc from the sob’s and their immediate family. Hopefully the CCA will make a court challenge.

Old Language :
quote:

Act 127 of 1912 constitutionally created the Conservation Commission of Louisiana as a department of Louisiana's state government, with the mission of providing for the protection of the state's birds, fish, shellfish, wild quadrupeds, forestry, and mineral resources.

New "mission" : conveniently removing all responsibility.

quote:

This confusing terminology, with a commission (board) managing the Commission (agency), continued until 1974, when the new Louisiana Constitution was completed and approved by voters. All of the old sections and amendments regarding normal functioning and administration of the agency were removed from the Constitution, retaining only the language regarding the composition and appointment of the seven-member Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission

So are they not actually required by law to do what's best for the wildlife and fisheries of the state? If not, then why do they even exist?

My hope is these actions gets a giant light shined on it by a wider audience, nothing will change without significant pressure.

Need to play Kevins fumbling speech on loop to the masses. X, FB, etc...
