Looking for something that I can keep in the truck/boat. Mainly for night time navigation, running juglines and frogging. I know about the hardhat mounted lights, but I'm looking for something that fits on your head with elastic straps. Something like this one on Amazon. I would rather it not be rechargeable.

I have that same light except it’s a green light. Very bright.

Fenix HL60R. Highly recommend based on battery life, aluminum construction, submersible, and can go up to 950 Lumens.

dont laugh, but the Blue Fuel headlight at NAPA is bright AF.
and it has rechargeable battery so theres that as well.
I have both the head strap one and the hand held and will vouch for both. The flashlight is actually much brighter than my same size surefire flashlight

I like using Browning for headlamp. I use this and it needs 3 AAAs

I just want something for when I'm running back at night ot out early in the AM Or I stay late running juglines.
How many lumens should I be looking at?

Headlamps are a dime a dozen. However,
Zebra light out of UK or anything by FENIX is pretty powerful if you want to spend a lot of money.
But these are a commodity and you’ll be fine with an amazon purchased light for 15 dollars.
My recommendation, get four of them though.
Keep one on the boat, one in the truck. And two more when they’re crapped out.
If t ou camp a lot, get a red light init as well. Saves your night vision.
Edit.
Get one with as few functions as possible.
My petzl has 6 different functions with only one button. That pisses me off. I have the hit the button like a Morse code operator to get the mode I want.
Here’s my recommendation:
My rec on for high lumen for low cost. I have three just because I misplace them in my dry bags while camping

I have Coast and Pelican non-rechargeable now. I've had so many over the years for work and after going through PTEC, Petzl, cheap Energizers, DeWalt, even my ACH-mounted SureFire. Rechargeable ones are nice but they will lose charge if not regularly topped off and they never offer the run time advertised, especially in the cold. Mine take AAA batteries, I keep a pack of spares in my work vehicle, and they are the only ones I've had yet that don't have parasitic drain problems which I think are common with multi-mode headlamps. Mine are strictly 1- or 2-mode which is all I need.

I bought this one last week. Bright as hell, but it's rechargeable so doesn't meet that criteria. It's not too heavy and seems to be made well.

Chedballz. The place in Luling has the one you want. It is patterned off of the old Ray O Vac 6V headlight. The one with the red white and blue straps. This one has a 3W LED bulb with a remote battery. Throws a nice bright, tight spot. Perfect for running at night just to shine the bank and signal with. www.crownledlights.com
The CL-200 is the one I have. Remote battery. Rechargeable or regular

That's the place by Louisiana Sportsman, Outdoor Express? If so I'll stop in and check them out this week.

Buy a Petzl. The Tikka seems perfect for what you need.

Coast makes some awesome headlights. I don't know why you don't want a rechargeable headlight. Mine has leds with 3 brightness levels and also a red led light that I use when walking in to deer hunt in the dark before daylight.
I freaking love that I don't always have to go buy batteries, just plug it in using the charger for my phone.
So if rechargable is exceptable to others I would suggest checking out Coast led headlights.
