Re-arming inflatable Life Vest--CO2 cartridge question

Are all small CO2 cartridges the same? The life vest company (Onyx) sells re-arming kits for $25+
but I can get a pack of 25 small cartridges for paintball for $15.

The onyx ones are 24 grams of co2, I think the BB gun ones are 10-12 grams.

Mine also has a special plastic tip on the cartridge that can't be replaced without buying the "recharging kit"

Had the same thing happen to all my auto inflate vests. Forgot to put the plug in the bottom of the hatch and some water got in there somehow 
$20 a pop to re-arm them now. And you have to use the specific kit to get the correct water soluble piece that makes it work.
