Is that why the same group of people wait in line for the deliveries. So they're buying it at market price and then selling at market price? Lol. You sir don't know what you're talking about. Stores never having it long enough to even hit the shelves is not market price.

You're the idiot. I went to walmart on Siegen two weeks ago. Walked in around 1130am and bought a brick of 22. You're whinny girl because other people have and you don't. We might as start redistribution of 22 so you can have your fair share huh.
Those folks in line are obviously pissing you off. I am all for them now.
Also, if Walmart charged $75 a brick I would have not bought it, only a complete loon spends more than .08 per round for 22. Kinda like buying gold, what idiot bought at +$1400?

No it's your ignorance on the matter that is aggravating me now.

Like I said, you are more knowledgable than successful business's such as academy, cabelas and wal mart. You should go speak with them and school them.

And you completely ignore the fact that 22 is easy to find and it seems only the lazy idiots pay neckbeard pricing.

That's just not true. Not at reasonable prices. At least not in south Louisiana. But it would be if the prices were allowed to find market equilibrium. And everyone in this thread would be able to go to their local retailer on any given day and find a reasonably priced brick of .22. I don't know why the big box retailers are keeping prices artificially low but they are the single biggest factor perpetuating this "shortage". And maybe that's the reason.

It really makes no sense for them to keep the price so low. The price of all types of ammo has been going up for several years, even before Sandy Hook. Maybe they think the run on 22 ammo will eventually stop, like it has stopped for AR-15's. Maybe they think there will be a backlash from the shooters that they don't want to face. Maybe they are trying to get people to give up on shooting cheap 22's and convert to more expensive and higher profit margin centerfire cartridges.

Yeah that combined with the fact that raising the price won't budge their bottom line much is what I figure. Risk/Reward isn't worth it to them.

Can't believe this thread is still going and how many think these stores are selling at market prices when there is enough margin left for a reseller to profit.

Raise prices = resellers buy more and raise prices = retailers raise prices =resellers then raise prices again
The higher the retail prices go, the higher the secondary, normally cheaper, market will charge. It's that simple

The market will not bear an infinity price point. Good grief.
