I don’t know where you’re at but the rut activity has been really good on the property I hunt east of Lake Rosemound in LA, and the other property south of Woodville east of 61 from Dec 22 till this past weekend for me, but it’s also the most time I’ve had to spend in the woods probably since my kids were born. It’s been similar for most people I talk to hunting all over.
If you’re not seeing sign, or even deer, go deeper next to the thickest stuff you can find.

Guy I hunt with hadn’t shot a buck in 2 years and was experiencing an eerily similar season to you until this morning when he shot an 8 point he had no pictures of on any of his cameras.

Last week the moon was so bright 58 year old me could walk wooded trails without lights, much less deer. This weekend will be peak rut and new moon with a long weekend thanks to MLK. Hunt hard.

This is one of the reasons I quit using cameras. There were times when I got discouraged and didn't go hunting because the pictures were all at night. I'd have still enjoyed the hell out of being in the woods if I didn't know that and gone anyway.

i would go. my brother killed a good 8 point the other day and all the bucks we have seen were at night. he dropped him at 4:55 pm
