PSA: Academy’s ‘Shooting and Hunting’ coupon this month doesn’t apply to firearms or ammo

FYI
Because of course you have to read through a paragraph of fine print to determine that the 2 most important items in the shooting category are excluded.
Disappointed in them. Seems like a bait and switch action a little to me.

I have never seen Academy discount ammo or firearms. Even when they do that 20% off everything in the store promotion, it excludes firearms and ammo.

They will beat Gander Outdoors online prices by 5%. They did that twice for me last year.

They have the best prices on guns so I am not too critical for them about this. Much rather have the lowest prices 100% of the time than just when a coupon is offered. Purchased 4 guns in the last 12 months from them. All had the best prices around.

Academy is still my go to for most items. Tackle, gym clothing, shotgun shells, camo, golfballs, etc. I rarely have a complaint about Academy.

I used a $20 off $100 coupon for ammo with an in store purchase last month. It was the spendandsave deal that was posted on the OB. The coupon did exclude online purchase of ammo.

I bought a dozen arrows with that coupon. They let me use the coupon plus price matched Gander plus 5% more off

If they ever give you a 20% off coupon from customer service for messing up an order it will work on guns and ammo. When they screwed up and gave out that 28% coupon over a year ago they honored it for the Glock 19 I bought.
