I have 3 huge (~4' around by ~40' high) pine trees in my small backyard in the Saint Street area. Does anyone know roughly how much to cut down a tree this size in a residential area (houses all around)?

Prepare to break the bank.... Them bawws high as giraffe pu55y to cut that down especially in Laffy

Im willing to bet no less than 1500 per tree and that is on the rock bottom cheap side, probably a good bit more than that especially being so close to homes

Then throw in a small backyard in an area with lots of houses around and the price goes up exponentially.

Is it a nice neighborhood? Do you need them to remove the trees? Since you have 3 my guess would be $1500 at least. But I'd bet you'll get quotes as high or higher than $800/ tree so $2500 range.

Are you sure they are only 40'? That's not that high for a pine.

What I was saying was you can pay someone to just drop them for you. Then you can clean them up and leave them for garbage service to pick up over time and you could probably get that done for $1000 or less.

Eta: my price was assuming they could fell the whole tree and cut it on the ground. If you are so close they have to cut it into pieces while it's standing then yeah much higher.

The worst part is you'll pay $5000 and they'll be done by lunch.

Is there any problems with the trees or are you just tired of picking up limbs.. If option 2 is the reason your best bet is to just grab a beer and pick up limbs

You could hire my 3 brother-in-laws who cut down a huge tree in the country on their dad's land and proceeded to drop it across the roof ridge of one of the old man's houses.

They will never live that down.

No health problems to trees but I've always worried if one went down in a storm or something it could fall on my bedroom and kill me while I'm sleeping.

Get a lot of quotes. I got 6 quotes to remove 12 pines from my back yard and there was a $1200 difference between the highest and lowest. Just so happened the company that has the best reputation for good work and who everyone said was the most expensive came in with the lowest quote.

They weren’t that big, but I had 2 fairly large pine trees cut down and stumps ground for $800 about 5 years ago. I used Preferred Tree Healthcare out of Port Barre.

If they need a crane, expect to get a bigger checkbook. 4 ft circumference, or diameter? I've been all over, and I've only seen two or three that big

The only way you'll get accurate estimates is have several tree companies come out and give bids. Make certain the one you choose is insured. You need to see proof of insurance. Good luck!

I had some redneck fella come cut down 3 trees, haul them off, everything for you guessed it $350.

Definitely not insured.

A friend of mine needed some big arse oaks cut down. Asked for redneck fellas number and I gave it to him. With an abundance of caution let him know the level of redneckness and the uninsured part.

So he gets a quote for $500, tells him to go ahead and do it. He is driving home from work one day and there are fire trucks, Alabama Power trucks, cop cars lining his street. Redneck fella cut one down into a transformer that fell into the leaves and set half the neighborhood on fire. No houses, just lawns and wooded areas.

Redneck guy had to pay for all of the repairs. Get an insured guy

seems like you should call Possum's Tree Service and just get a quote.

Possum expensive as hell. Call A Cajun Tree Cutters. They were the cheapest of the quotes I got by far. Shook the dudes hand and went to work. Got a text 20 minutes later from the wife with a pic of both trees down.

Possum would have done it in 15. See what the low bid gets you?

that's funny, cause Possum's was the cheapest when I had one cut a few years ago.

Not pines but I had two huge water oaks taken out of my backyard a few years ago. They had a crane truck, bucket lift truck, and other stuff back there. Cost me 6,000 including stump grinding. It sucked but at least me or my house didn't die. LOL.
