But seriously...whats it's purpose?
It's akin to putting Yeti and Drake stickers on the back window of a truck... same guy
This guy ALWAYS has a 4x4 truck with a lift kit, an LED light bar, and enlarged muffler baffle... and his tires most likely stick out farther than the fenders.
If he is really creative he probably has a windshield brow sticker on his F250 with a saying like "Still Strokin"

I use mine because I sweat so f*ckin much that sunscreen just doesn't stay on and it helps keep the gnats off my face.

I've never once in my life though "i could really use a cloth facemask while fishing".
Felt the same way when they first hit. Then i realized I don't have to grease up my neck and face with the sunscreen and the no-see-ums can't get to my ears and nostrils in the mangroves and I was converted. To hell what they look like....they work.

Nope, none of that for me and I wear them all the time. The "what's it's purpose" can't be a serious question. I love mine. Don't have to reapply sunblock and they are not hot at all. I fish south Louisiana marsh in August and have zero issues with them being hot. I don't give a crap what it looks like, it's about being functional and way better than getting my hands greasy.

No judging here, was just curious. I'm always curious when i see some new 'fad' that captures sportsmen and I wonder if its beneficial or just cool. Just like a Yeti, i'll never have one, because i don't live in the sahara.
Like i said, i've never thought i needed one, but maybe i do. The skull face is taking it too far though.

I always wore a buff mask. Really helps in almost all weather conditions as others have said. Keeps off sun, stops gnats, keeps cold wind off your face in the fall/winter. But I do laugh when I see pictures of guys with their shirt off, but mask pulled over their face. I wore long sleeves, a hat, and the mask. Sometimes, I'd even wear pants to limit the need for sun block. There are enough tech materials out there where you can cover up and still be "cool"

Yeah I don't do the skull face thing, even though I don't care what I look like, if i have a choice, I'm not going to wear that. Most of those silly face ones (skull, clowns) are sold by salt armor. I have a plain one from them and I don't like the quality at all. I have a plain light blue columbia one that is very comfortable that I wear.

Yeah, I'm actually almost completely covered. Skin cancer runs in my family so I'm not messing around with it. I don't care about being in the sun when I'm fishing. I'd rather not have to worry about getting too much sun. I wear columbia pants, long sleeve UPF 50 t shirts, a buff and a hat, and I also just got some fingerless gloves.

Saw one this morning that said "MOVE OVER" backwards so you could read it in your rearview mirror.
