I'm pretty sure it still costs $15 person to hunt WMA's with the WMA permit.

It does, but I have a lifetime license and the lifetime license includes WMA permit

I would think federal coastal restoration dollars go to restoring public lands in this parish.

If people who have a dog in this hunt were smart they would lobby their federal representatives and state representatives to cut coastal restoration dollars to this parish.

then they should do what 53 other parishes do.

CPRA has already filed suit in federal court for PP's failure to fall inline on diversons. Some of the older guys need to bring the young fellas up to speed on how things work in Plaquimes parish.
Google Judge Leander Perez and multiply what you find x 1,000 and you will get close to how he used to run the parish.

Land use fees will stay because someone wanted them to happen in the first place. Exxon was the only major that wouldn't play ball with LP so they never had an operations center in Venice. The parish doesn't need the money from these land use fees, someone wants to make it inconvenient/cost prohibitive for outsiders to use PP public property. IMO, they should lease it like countless school boards do all over the state.

Hard to feel sorry for a guide making money off public land.....

whats the difference between public land and water. AKA the gulf? as in tuna charters or even inshore fishing charters etc..

I dont feel sorry for them either though. Its just like a business going under due to a new law screwing the company up. just go find another job like everyone else.

so correct me but...
is this "parish" property...bought with taxpayer dollars...
maintained by taxpayer dollars...
and the local gubment wants to charge taxpayers to hunt and fish it?...
or does someone else own it...

If one goes under because of this nonsense he/she probably deserves to fail. This land isn’t anymore public then the school board sections in every parish that are leased out, it has never been leased. I can see where the parish is going and my Assumption is they want to cya and make users have some skin in the game (stewardship). If this doesn’t work look for a total ban on surface drives which will limit access even more.
