quote:You know what? You're right. I won't even deny that. The reason I've given up of trying to win over any "hearts and minds" 'round here is because 1. the gang mentality only makes it harder for posters who genuinely want to learn something to gain anything worthwhile from these threads and 2. the amount of brainwashing these people go through on a daily basis from tv, radio, work, friends, etc. is not going to be changed by one pissed off guy on the internet. I mean seriously think how bad the political environment must be for gun loving rednecks to be voting for a guy like Mitt Romney. It's fricking shameful.
If you can't get the OB on "your side", who are you going to get? You're just no good at persuading, are you?

So you're saying(trolling) that if you live in a state that is already guaranteed to go for one candidate, and your vote is not needed, that you still openly support and vote for that person even though what he stands for is opposite of what you stand for and what the Constitution stands for?
I actually technically live in North Carolina, which will be a swing state in the election.

I agree with you to an extent. I don't like the dude. He's just another rich arse yankee from a liberal state with 100% detachment from the real world.
I do however believe he is the lesser of the two evils running for president and I will be voting for him.
From strictly a gun control standpoint, the NRA supports him and ryan. I'd rather rom/ryan than BHO/biden

We get it dude, you know about the gun laws. You're sitting here telling people they shouldnt vote because of disinterest in 1 policy. As much as you dont care blah blah blah, one of these men is going to be OUR president for the next few years. I'm at the point in my life where I have to be concerned for my immediate future and make a decision based on the candidates and the facts given that will help ME, not YOU. So okay, it looks like the gun laws are stupid and we are misinformed by media, but a choice has to be made and having Obama in office is NOT what this country needs. I WILL vote, I WILL make a difference, and I WILL have a say in what the future holds for me.

You're part of the problem. I don't mean to be a dick, but you are. If you live in Louisiana and you vote for this guy instead of voicing your opinion by voting for a conservative or staying home then you are responsible for the terrible downshift this country has taken. You've lost your right to complain about politics for the next 4 years.

You and I think a lot alike bro. I'm just a lot more apathetic and cynical
Posted on 9/4/12 at 5:56 pm to Blue Velvet
Fair enough.
I don't trust BHO. Nobody else has a chance of winning other than him or rom. I'll be canceling out an obama vote.

So by us disagreeing with your ignorant evaluations, we're a "gang"!??

quote:You live in Southdowns so you've done nothing. Your just another stupid housewife voting for who her husband likes or a teenager voting for who their favorite musician likes. Romney has a 100% chance of winning our state. We could convince people to support a conservative and get traction and media attention for 2016 (I'm hoping the GOP chooses a guy like Gary next time) by up'ing the 3rd party vote or we could vote for Obama's policies by supporting Romney. You have chosen the latter.
I WILL vote, I WILL make a difference, and I WILL have a say in what the future holds for me.

Why not raise the conservative vote to get a conservative some attention for 2016?
Because it won't happen. It sounds good and noble and all, but I just don't see it happening.
And we're getting off track...

Are you honestly passionate about supporting gun control and the piles of other shite he supports?
No. I'm passionate about getting rid of BHO. I know people who have been loosing their asses off with him in office and I'm ready for him to go.
Just because I will vote for romney does not mean that I support any form of gun control.

You obviously underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers. If everyone that was thinking about voting for Romney did what you say to do and either not vote or write in some guy that gets a few thousand votes, then Obama would win the state.
You have 2 options for candidates, neither of which I personally want in office, but that's your choice. NEVER underestimate the power of 1 vote. If one person doesn't vote because they don't like either candidate, and that person convinces a few people to not to vote, and then those people convince a few people, there will be alot of people not voting at all, and alot of people voting for Obama.

Because it won't happen. It sounds good and noble and all, but I just don't see it happening.
quote:No we aren't. It's relevant. I was called a liberal on here by people who support gun control. shite has become ridiculous. You won't find a more conservative person on this website.

I think you're grossly overestimating the power of one vote
Posted on 9/4/12 at 6:09 pm to Blue Velvet
My point the entire time has been that we decide our future, not you. All we know is that BHO does not have what it takes, so we will give the latter a shot. MR can't possibly be more of a wrong decision than the current, sl keep trying to persuade, but you know exactly who I'll be punching in come November.

Yeah, I don't necessarily believe that 1 vote makes a difference unless after all said and done, it does.
Posted on 9/4/12 at 6:13 pm to PapaPogey
I still don't know who I'll vote or. It won't be Obama. It might not be Romney. I might not vote at all. I'll decide when I'm in the booth.
I just don't care much anymore and don't believe one man can make a difference in the fricked up government we have. And everyday I meet people who lead me to believe the people will never be smart enough to change anything.
I'll just wait around for the next mass extinction and let all the stupid fricks die off and hope the new world order does it better next time around.
