Are there any benefits to a JMAC muzzle device and adjustable gas block?

I have adj gas blocks on all of my AR’s but one because I run a can on all of them. If you’re going run suppressed I suggest the adj gas block.

that would make sense with the JMAC muzzle device as well since it can receive a silencer as well. the Sabre flash hider on the $799 model doesn't have that ability.

For those of you that know, what situations would you prefer .223 Wilde over 5.56?

I don't think there's any benefit to a Wilde chamber over 5.56 to anyone not shooting competitive long range accuracy matches. You, your ammo, the weather on the day you are shooting, and a dozen other things in your rifle build matter more.

Yep, nitride is fine. I only went with chrome lined because I'm a clone dork.

it's got that nitride barrel on it.

Chrome is the better option. HC chrome is a dimensional finish, nitriding is a surface treatment. Barrels and BCG's machined to mil-spec accounts for the dimensional changes from HC chrome, if nitrided those dimensions are looser than they should be which means BCG's that leak more gas than they should and barrels with chambers and bores that are more open.

i missed out on the 13.7 options. the only one that's left is a quad rail.

and they didn't even offer the FDE versions.

Isn't .223 wilde basically just a poor man's 5.56 noveske chamber?

If I remember correctly, 1/8" twist and the tolerances are designed for incredibly niche instances

from my youtube research, .223 wydle provides the tighter tolerances of the .223 remington round for the 5.56 nato round while also being able to handle the pressure of the 5.56 nato round.

I've got two chambered .223 wylde. Supposedly its the best choice if you want to fire 223 and 556

223 wilde

I see no reason not to go wilde. They are almost always the same price.

Noveske is a poor man's Wylde chamber. Pretty sure the Wylde predates Noveske by a decade or more.

This is bad information. They don’t machine to pre-chrome dimensions if they’re going to use a nitride finish.

Sometimes cheap (probably Chinese made that there saying are USA made) nitrided BCGs can have bad tolerances, but if you by a nitride barrel from a reputable company like BA or Rosco or PSA, etc, you're probably not going to have that happen.

After all, Nitride is a chemical process, not a traditional over-coating like Chrome.

Any machined part can have bad tolerances regardless of the finish, though. That's not unique to nitride, chrome, parkerized or raw stainless.

Barrel makers aren't out there machining barrels to the same dimensions, then putting one in the chrome pile which will turn out correct and one in the nitride pile so it can be undersized. That's absurd. I'm not trying to be a dick but there's enough misinformation in the gun world without adding to it.

It's very common, especially among companies that offer a variety of finishes/coatings. Talking small thousandths of an inch and the volume manufactures aren't changing tooling just for that. Nitriding is a cheaper finish, that's the main reason it's offered so much, not that it's better. Most AR's are over gassed anyway, so a BCG that leaks more gas isn't going to run poorly but if anything becomes marginal after a few thousand rounds it can become a problem.

The JAKL comes in 300 BO. The long stroke AK piston design is very interesting in an AR package.

can anyone educate me on the muzzle devices PSA is using on these rifles? if i'm gonna buy one, i'm thinking i might want to get one that is "future proof" just in case i want to geta suppressor one day.

JMAC GFHC-E Pin and Weld (i think this one is extended longer for the PSA rifles to get the 16" barrel length on the 13.7" barrels)
- "Suppressor Mount will not work with Dead Air Nomad and some SilencerCo Suppressors"

AAC 51T Flash Hider Pin and Weld (used on 14.5" barrels)
- there is no suppressor information

SilencerCo ASR Flash Hider (used on 14.5" barrels)
- there is no suppressor information
