The other 5% that shoot 10’s of thousands of rounds out of their guns the top tier stuff matters.
Maybe, maybe not. 2 identical bolts come off an assembly line, one is MPI, one isn't. MPI costs money and it gives you more of a guarantee, but they'll probably shoot the same number of rounds before failure.
And for private ownership I doubt it's anywhere close to 5% that put tens of thousands of rounds downrange.

True, probably some geardo that has no idea how many companies make parts for these companies. They all source parts amongst themselves and some small machine companies that they have never heard of. Military contracts are one of the biggest hodge podges of part suppliers known. FN gets an order for 25,000 M4A1's and they'll have bolt carriers from Stag, firing pins from LMT, bolt pins from Mennie, bolts from a PSA supplier, etc. As long as it all follows the TDP and the QC is established and traceable then the name slapped on the receiver means very little.

About 10 or so years ago there was a chart of manufacturers who followed the TDP and those who did not.

Explain the tiers, please

The issues with PSA has never been the quality of the parts (it's a not so big secret they are right down the road from FN and get contract overrun parts all the time), the issue with PSA is their assembly.
I have had several "problem" PSA rifles come across my bench that had simple assembly issues. Including one that "wouldn't group". I checked the standard issues like torquing the optics mount and rings, checked headspace and examined the bolt, etc. I had the rifle in my vise and removed the handguard. While doing so, I grabbed the end of the barrel and noticed it moved. I pulled the gas tube and found out the barrel nut was hand tight. Whoever put the rifle together at the factory never torqued it down. How does that happen?

Well all I can tell you is Colt doesn't belong in the Tier for High Quality and customer service. Some of the rifles that have come out of their plant in recent years have been terrible. I bought a new 9901 9mm AR years ago. They barrel nut was so loose the barrel had a wobble, the flash hider was only hand tight and enough tool marks on the lower it looked like it was put together by my 15 yr old son.

Sometimes you get barrels that just aren't precise. I've found with AR's its a hit and miss unless you're willing to spend money.
The barrel is one of those uncompromisable issues to me. I don't expect 1" groups, and can live with 2" groups from an AR, but scattered shooting is a sign of shitty ammo or a poor barrel.

Agreed but, as I said, this one was because the barrel was actually loose in the receiver. LoL.

No I've been checking but keep watching they have been adding models, no idea if the FN will make this batch.
