Will do.

I'm using concrete for my counter-tops and will inlay rebar to support the bar overhang to eliminate any angle iron sticking down.

Will, Tbouux and crew

Are most of these units built like pictured, 2x4 framed and then cased on the outside with planks or brick?

Im just thinking of doing a very small setup on my back porch and didnt know where to start.

All I have seen are cinder block units and steel framed.

Mine is like above, 2x4, lined, and bricked like my house.

Excuse my ignorance, but what does "lined" mean

The stuff the put on my house as well for the vapor barrier, tyvec or something like that. Not 100% sure why they did it on the kitchen part that's just how the builder usually does. He has his house framers and brick layers do it during the house so the cost is not that bad.

I'm in the same boat Polar Pop. I'm about to jump in also. Mine will be more of only a bar though. I won't be framing in the "Kitchen" as in a grill or anything. Just kind of an L shape bar. I plan to do the framing with 2x4's like this and then cover it in cedar rather than brick. 1. because I'm not an OT baller and 2. Because this house isn't my last stop.

All framing pics are welcome...

If I were doing it after the fact it wouldnt be in brick either...it just didnt cost much to have the brick layers tad that like the house. A buddy of mine did his in pallet boards that looks pretty good and was free.

Now we're talking more my range . I like the idea of cedar because it stains well and handles weather well.

Happen to have pics of his setup? Reason I haven't started yet is because I can't seem to make up my mind completely on what I want. The only thing I know for sure is that I want doors to lock things up. My shed is running low on space so putting things like charcoal and such in it would be clutch.

Be careful with that wood touching the ground in a semi-wet area. It will constantly stay wet and rot out, even if it is treated wood.

Good call. It is under cover but sideways rain could be a problem. I'll have to take precautions. Thanks for the warning.

Yea that is my fear too is how long is this wood going to stay intact and what do do after...does the brick hold it all up? Its made like a house exterior more or less so idk. I asked him and this is how he did them so I went with it.

ill try to get a pic

I Helped build two really nice ones this winter with a guy named Peter Roque(Rock). We built one in Donaldsonville and one in Ascension. He does very good work and will go above and beyond for a pretty fair price.

His number is (225)-323-2762 tell him Zach who worked with him over winter break recommended him.

Question for you guys, do grills come in standard sizes? What happens if you want to change your grill out in a few years but you have it encased in brick? I was thinking about just buying a normal grill and taking it off the base since that's much cheaper than buying just the grill top for some reason.

He is doing the whole counter top in caps...got some work to do

Cant imagine why it does DVT

I often wondered that about built in grills and if/when you change out. Thats part of the reason I didnt wrap the counter around my 2 primos...just in case I want to switch to 3 BGEs

The bourbon and cigar in the avatar makes it look even better

I'm thinking of doing the bottle cap top also. How do you plan to do it? Putting something over the top?

As long as it's on concrete and it can drain, it won't be a problem.
