Just bought a new house that already had a 30” built in gas grill (bull). I bbq most of the time with charcoal (kamado Joe). Can I replace that gas grill with a 30” griddle without having to do modifications to my brick or granite outdoor kitchen? Will it just drop into the same spot.

Seems like you could just cut a piece of stainless to fit. That would be pretty cool to have, for cooking bacon and eggs on the porch early in the morning.

I use this on my pit. Rarely take it off.

Griddles for Grills
We planted this flag long ago — we believe grills are perfectly capable of creating delicious dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But when we talk about breakfast on the grill, we don’t expect you to go outside and crack a few eggs over your grill grates (0/10; would not recommend). No, we think you should whip up pancakes or a glorious breakfast hash on a grill top griddle, which can itself be used for every meal of the day. Flank steak tacos for lunch and stir fry for dinner? Or maybe a pizza instead? Whatever you end up cooking, just make sure you send us an invite.

My wife bought me a cheap version of something like this a while back. It's basically a 1/4" stainless steel with an edge on three sides cut to fit a normal sized grill. It's awesome.

That looks nice. Is cleanup a pain?

Same here - get a griddle that fits and you can have the best of both worlds. Cleanup is easier because you can remove it

Not bad. I bought one of those long handle combination scraper/brillo pad things from Home Depot. Scrape than add a little water and brillo. Push the water to the gutter and let it evaporate. Every now and then I take an old teaspoon and clean the gutter out.

I miss cooking breakfast outside like I did when we were campers.
