What bullet weight do you use from factory loads.

Most seem to be either 129gr or 140gr.
Do you think the lighter bullet weight to be a negative?

120gr Sierra Pro Hunters.

Shot an 8 or this year and he went 30 yards. Dropped a 200lb boar hog as well

I use 143 grain and shot two deer this year. First one dropped in its tracks and the 8 point maybe ran 20 yds and was dead before he hit the ground.

Nosler accubond LR 142gr. Shot a doe at 200yds. Pulled the shot and hit her in the lungs. She ran maybe 20yds.

I really like 143g eld-x in my bolt gun.

My gas gun prefers 140 Berger Hybrids.

Either will do what you want to a deer.

Not in the least. Depending on your rifle it could allow you some extra velocity over 14Xgr ammo.

Yes. 6.5's shine with long skinny bullets. Not sure what factory offerings are available, but I'd shoot 155's or 160's if available.

140 Nosler accubonds. Tried the 120 and the gun didn't like it as much. That's the only reason I have not gone lighter

Unless he's running a 30" 7 twist barrel the creed won't realize the benefit of the 150s and up, nor will it stabilize them.

143gr ELD-X are pure poison on deer inside of 300 yards. Havnt seen one shot further than that with the round yet.

I also shoot the 143 eld-x. I personally have had trouble with whitetail at closer ranges with it unless I shoot them in the shoulder. Had 2 deer last year run a good ways without bleeding on shots behind the shoulder. I just feel like that thing is screaming through there and closes the whole. May have just been 2 weird cases. I’ve killed auodad and mule deer from several hundred yards out with that round and it’s like hitting them with a freight train.

What range are you shooting at ?? Buddy of mine built a 6.5prc to go elk hunting and let his wife shoot a whitetail at 60 yards with a Berger pushing 3200fps. Deer ran 100 yards bullet fragmented into at least 16 pieces so he claimed and turned the Insides into “jello” but hardly left a drop of blood!!!
He’s convinced that his custom built 3500$ rifle needs some new bullets for deer hunting at close range..
I would get some bonded or solids to cover my bases
