We do our hunting just north of Baton Rouge and we have been taking our deer/hogs to Woodville. Any recommendations for on the hoof butcher near BR?
Thanks

I’m trying to figure out exactly what you mean by “on the hoof” butcher.

You needing the deer cleaned and gutted?

Wanting it quartered, sausage, ground, etc?

I’d gut it and qtr it on my own. Hard to believe you hunt on a place that you cannot at least do this (it will also save you some money). There is a place in Satsuma that may do the work for you. It is Cook shack deer processing. They make a killer breakfast sausage. Tremontes in BR is pretty damn good too but I doubt they want an uncleaned deer. Their Italian and pepper jack is killa.

I think leblancs in morganza does it. I dropped off some meat last year and they had several deer and hogs laying on a concrete pad in the back.

Days smokehouse out in Watson does it if I’m not mistaken.

I also suggest Leblanc’s in Morganza. They’ll do the whole job start to finish and have never heard anyone complain about the quality of sausage, burger, tamales, burritos, etc
