Maybe I’m too nice. I’ll ask the general area someone at the parking area is going to to make sure I’m not headed to the same area. If I pass someone on the trail, I ask them also. I have plenty of spots I can hunt so I’ll gladly go somewhere they aren’t headed. I figure, they got to the land first so let them go to their area.

I think the wind might have ripped it off the tree.

This was one of those hunts where I'm glad i spent a bunch of money on good clothing. Other than my hands I was straight up toasty

How are these things any more legal than a regular atv/sxs?

Not sure. There are no ATVs allowed at this place but ebikes can use any bike trail or service road. Since there is a lot of ag there are service roads everywhere.

That's an easy question to answer. They don't have an internal combustible engine, they don't make the noise an atv/sxs makes, and they don't typically have the power to rut up a place like those do. A lot of places limit the motors to 750 watts. Most places they can be used only where regular bikes can be used, and that makes sense. People using them where they aren't allowed will make it bad for those that follow the rules.

Never rode one.

Serious question, say one of these guys takes a 200ish LB buck, do they drag it out with the bike?

This is my question also. Sure an ebike, or a regular bike, can get you back there deep. How do you get your dead deer out?

I get them out with my regular bike all the time. I normally clean on thr ground and put in my pack then ride out. Ive also gutted and strapped the deer over the seat and handlebars then road out on top of the deer.

Anything with any kind of motor needs to be restricted to actual access roads.

Problem could be solved easily. Anything mechanically propelled, including electric, is no longer legal.

That should be no less illegal than an atv.

I hear ya. the rain was miserable. I saw plenty of deer after the rain. saw 3 chasing that were easily 160"+ chasing does and of course they were 300 yards away and i had a bow. Majority of the deer i saw were on the farm behind me. landowner told me shoot whatever as long as it is legal. had to settle with a basket 8 but it was well worth it considering i sat through pouring rain 3 days straight.

Keep hunting hard, i am confident you will get one.

Looks like I'm eating my bow tags. Slept in and packed up camp this morning. We are getting a hotel tonight and going get shitfaced on margaritas. Heading to a different conservation area for muzzleloader tomorrow.

My big screw up is that I keep forgetting that the deer aren't afraid to walk across the middle of a bean field at 8 in the morning. I keep hunting thick shite like I would in la or ms. I got all torn up by briars and prarie roses to watch a 150" buck stroll through a field 60 yards from me.

Public land this time of year up here gets crazy! I have a spot I bow hunt that is a royal pain in the arse to get to but I don't have a lot of others screwing me up and they dang sure ant riding a bike through it.
