Let's make this the official thread to post new product offerings, embarrassing PR moves, and general firearms industry gossip. I know a few people who will be on the ground in Vegas, so will try to get as many pictures and deets as I can.

Kicking off: Geissele is announcing their new products to be debuted at SHOT tonight at 10 pm EST. As an unabashed Geissele fanboi...

Hoping we see some genuine ingenuity and creativity this year. My favorite product of last year was the Hudson H9 since it was new and innovative. Even though it hasn't been completely ironed out I would like to see some neat new offerings.

Thanks for starting the thread.

Some products are down right ignorant, but I think a lot of the "WTF innovations" are more marketing endeavors than anything. I think its more about "hey, lets stretch the bounds, get out side of the box, and do something that is going to get the over-satuated industry talking about us". Good or bad, it doesn't matter there's no such thing as bad publicity. I doubt FightLight thinks they are going to make millions off the raider. They probably recognize it is a very limited market. But did you think you would be talking about FightLight or their products today? That's at least the second time I have seen them mentioned here in the past week. That's pretty valuable as far as internet marketing goes. Really, they have seemingly good niche with that lower receiver in the ban states. Thowing that grip and short barrel on their existing product cost nothing in R&D and seems like is generating some good buzz for them. Big picture.

So Geissele is releasing:

DDC receiver extensions
It’s own rifle system
MK16 complete uppers 14.5”

Nothing earth shattering IMO. I’ll pick up a DDC extension to match my build, but I’m not interested in the complete uppers. Was hoping they would put out a mag release to match the maritime bolt catch.

Didn't realize there was a thread already. I found a bunch of cool stuff and made another thread. Not going to even look at the dumb knife grip crap though, they shouldn't even be allowed there.

For the love of all that is holy please let Browning drop a synthetic 20ga A5. I'll never shoot a 12 at a duck again

Here is my post from the other day:

quote:

Ok, cant really contain my excitement and there are some pretty cool preorders going on right now that I think some here could take advantage of. A couple things have already been announced.

Feel Free to add new things and Ill try to update this post to reflect the additions.

I am looking at the bolt gun stuff, so if someone wants to watch the AR stuff that would help.

Here is a list of stuff being announced. Exhibitor List

Rifle Actions: BigHorn Origin BigHorn makes the TL3 and SR3 rifle actions right now. They are pretty awesome, combine the best of Savage and Remington. The Origin is a budget action. Ill probably preorder one and sell my Stiller since its not built yet. Preorder for $75 off until Feb 1. Will be $750 preorder and $825 normal price. American Rifle Company Nucleus ARC is a freaking engineering genius. Pretty much the best of all manufacturers were taken and put into one action(Mausingfeld). The Nucleus is a budget minded version and is a pretty awesome deal. Preorder for $150 off until Jan 28. Preorder price $850 and normal price of $1000. Rifles: PVA John Hancock Really geared towards the PRS Production division for those wanting to shoot matches. Has already started a huge fight in that realm because its not really a production rifle or whatever. PVA is building these for $2000. Pretty awesome deal. Nucleus action, Rock Creek button rifled Barrel, Timney Trigger, KRG Bravo Chassis. I think there are a couple more manufacturers releasing rifles like this so keep up. Remington 700 PCR Looks like they took the barreled action from the 5R and put it in a chassis. They check them for sub-moa accuracy before they leave the factory. Available in 6.5 Creed, 260, and 308. Think itll be about $900. Should compete with the RPR very well, just about a year behind though. Bipods: Atlas CAL The Atlas bipod got a change to make it more like a Harris with no panning feature. Pretty cool, I never really could get my Atlas to lock down, but that was with a 17lb+ rifle. This should be super fast with the pod-loc from KMW. There are 3 versions, the one linked is with the qd clamp. These are on sale until Jan 31.

Whelp, as expected the Reformation SBR loophole turned out to be really really stupid. Straight "rifling" and mini nerf footballs. Save $200 on a tax stamp but spend $$$ on proprietary ammo with questionable accuracy: OutdoorHub Blog
