They had a "sale" of 10% off so I pulled the trigger on the B15 set. I liked the idea of cerakote and they had some cool patterns but it doubled the wait time to 8 weeks. I'm not that patient so stuck with Black anodized.

It’s extremely nice stuff. I have several of their handguards on other builds. Here’s some pics I found. Will update this weekend with better ones.

Besides the FN barrel, what are you planning for you components?

I convinced Reds to get a triggertech trigger and I’ll recommend the same to you. It the best trigger I’ve ever used. I have two in ARs and 3 in bolt guns.

Yep it’s incredible. Have the one in my AR10 and my Christensen Mesa came with one and it’s awesome.

Just found a Criterion 14.5 CORE at AR15discounts so I went ahead and bought it instead of tge FN They are hard as hell to find and I like they are contoured for more balance and overall heat dissipation.

Going to be a Recce type build for me so going with a single stage trigger. Looking at Rise armament blitz trigger. No creep and reset is amazing.

I like the new Reptillia Recce carbine stock. It’s not available until March.

For rest of lower
Badger ordnance condition one safety selector
Areo enhanced buffer tube
JP silent capture buffer and spring
Magpul MOE grip
KNS pins

Going with an LPVO optic. Haven’t decided yet but going to be looking at sales and demos. I have 5-6 weeks. Want to keep it around $1200 for optic.

Speaking barrels, anyone ever shot a Noveske stainless barrel? Are they as good as everyone always hyped them?

Mine shoots great on my complete noveske gun but they are not worth the money. A criterion shoots as good or better and is cheaper. Also, noveske gas ports are huge. They are way overgassed. Not ideal.

Yeah Noveskes are like $100 more than Criterion. It's a shame.

I have an 11.5” QCB on a MK18 build. It shoots lights out. You’re paying for accuracy, fit, finish and ability to stand up to abuse. Is it worth it? If tomorrow was the last day you could buy a barrel probably so.

Stainless barrels used to be pacnor blanks. The shops were really close. Don't know if it's true anymore, but at least they used to start with a high quality blank.

Pacnor building burned to the ground a few years ago. The owner was nearing retirement and decided not to rebuild.

The way it worked with Pacnor is Noveske picked their own steel. Pacnor it the blanks and shipped to Noveske for rifling, hand lapping etc.

I heard FN is cutting for them now. Don’t know how true it is.

I like the stippling on the rail, but the cutouts look pretty extreme.
