I assume the broken piece is flush with the screw?
It should not be too terribly tight. You should be able to get a punch to work it back the other way to loosen it. Once loose it should fall out or use som compressed air to get it out.
And even if it is stuck, you can remove the roll pin and get the barrel off by sliding the gas tube to the rear to clear the gas block.

if one were to want to sell such, where would one go? any suggestion on value?
Ya, bayoushooter probably your best bet.
Its probably worth whatever a generic milspec upper/lower are going for. Its good stuff, but its nothing rare or special or anything. $100 for each maybe.
How old is it though?

the box it was in had a shipping label from Essential to City Pawn in Baton Rouge. The last post on City Pawn's facebook page is 2017.
something i saw suggested it was purchased in 2017, but i don't recall what it was.

So, I accidentily broke the head of my Allen wrench off in the gas block screw. It was tight, I was trying to loosen it and then bam... Broke the key off. Anybody got any nifty tricks to get it out?
I'd like to avoid destroying the gas block if at all possible. It's a good one.

I did this trying to remove a safety selector on a JP. Apparently they use a lot of red loctite. I said frick it and just went shooting. The recoil was enough to make it fall out. So maybe try that before you start drilling.

Use code “alliance” to get it down to $137.49. Works on other items too.

Any of you guys shot a KAC SR-15 before? Fiance gave me the ok to buy one but I want to make sure they are significantly better than say BCM or DD.

What's the preferred brand here for range bags?

That's funny you ask that I've been looking all day for a bag for my mk18. Interested what people say

I'd snag that if I was you. KAC resale value alone worth it.

Only one id get would be a lpr.
Other than that id just get a kac lower
They are nice, but grossly overpriced for what they are.

Any decent AR will be reliable these days, any decent AR will hold up under combat conditions. When you say "better" the only typical differences are the trigger, fit & finish and accuracy. You don't have to get a boutique AR to have an MPI inspected bolt or dimensional accuracy these days. Any $1k AR should give you that.
All that said, KACs are very "nice" for lack of a better word, and so are DDs. I've only briefly handed a BCM and it looked like any other AR but that's a sample size of one. A KAC will hold its value, probably better than any other brand, but it won't do anything another good AR can't do. None of them will.

You can find this basic configuration under 20 different brand names, they're probably all sewn in the same factory in China. Two rifle compartments, plus room for a handgun or two, plenty of pockets, nothing's come unraveled yet. Mine's a Voodoo Tactical, I got my son this one with a Huntsen label. It's not London Bridge Tactical but for the price I'm happy with it.

I found a DDT bag on govx.com I'm thinking about ordering, but it's about $75 and I'm wondering how well it'll hold up. My gf(no pics) is a former cop and her rifle bag is in pretty bad shape after only a couple of years. Anyone have experience with DDT bags? How's the voodoo hold up?

I have come to realize that "better" is definitely very subjective in the black rifle world. I think I am looking for something that is NEARLY indestructible, low maintenance, very reliable, will hold its value if I ever need to sell, and has a good reputation with customer service. The only knock on KAC I can find is their customer service/quality control. To me, spending 800-1000 more for a gun is a no-brainer if it is truly the best. If best equals less than 1% of those points that matter to me then maybe that 800-1000 would be better spent elsewhere.
Anyways, thanks OB brethren for the help!
