Does anyone know if there are any manufacturers that make an A2 style buttstock in an A1 length?

I think the Fulton Armory one might be close.

Looks like Cav Arms might make them

That's right. Good catch.
RRA also makes their entry stock that's even shorter.
There's also the Sully stock, which is between that and a regular A1.
My favorite fixed is the Magpul carbine stock. It's like a collapsible one at the 3rd position out of 6.

I ordered a CavArms A1 today. I'll let you know what it looks like when it gets in.

Let’s talk barrels......
I’m thinking something in the $200ish dollar range
Faxon
or
Ballistic Advantage

Faxon makes a great barrel for the money.

Caliber?
I have a have both Faxon and BA.
The BA is more accurate.
Faxon is 6.5 Grendel
In BA I have a 6.5cm and a .308
The 6.5cm shoot less than .5" at 100yds. Still working on the .308 have only put around 50 rounds through it but it's easily an 1" at 100 yds.
The Grendel needs to be shot more as well but it's kinda all over the place but part of that is me trying to figure out the load.

16" .223 wylde is the direction I believe i will be going with this first build.

However, my mind is wide arse open if you care to suggest a different caliber other than .223/5.56 for a first time build.

My first was a 5.56. Nothing wrong with it at all.
The problem was my 2nd build, then 3rd and 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th.

My first was an Olympic Arms A2 carbine with the old school CAR stock. This was right after the AWB expired.

Anyone here ever ordered something from TNTE? I've always wanted an A2 middy.

also called a solvent trap.
They're legal. You have to drill the hole in the end cap and Form 1 it.
