M&P Sport ii
I have a spare tlr 3 sitting around.
Is there an easy way to mount that lighit under the front sight?
I prefer to keep it under the barrel so it will fit in the case easier.

I'd say spend a little money & buy a Magpul Mloc forward grip to replace the standard clamshell. You'll probably need to get a 4 slot picatinny Mloc rail too for the light to mount to.
No tools are required, but it is a tight fit & four hands may be better than two if you don't want to buy the clamshell lever tool. Make sure to measure the clamshell you're replacing because Magpul makes different sizes. IIR the M&P Sport takes the shortest one that Magpul offers.

NFA branch confirmed they are not processing any Form 1 or 4 applications during the government shutdown.

Finally getting around to showing off my new set up. I work at a local gun shop on the weekends while I finish school and got the gun free and the scope 99% off through salesman reward programs. Only thing I paid was $12 for the scope and about $50 for the rings. Springfield Saint 5.56 with a Leopoldo VX5 HD CDS 1-5 power.

What would you guys say I should throw on it next? I’m thinking a tactical light. Open to any suggestions

tactical light.
Every serious defensive weapon should have a white light on it if it has the ability to accommodate one.

I am a big fan of Surefire Scout M300 with the SR07 switch. It’s $$$ but you will never have to buy another light. Built like a tank.

Anybody got a makeshift way of removing a standard barrel but without an armorer’s wrench? I lent mine out and haven’t gotten it back yet. Got a free floating rail I want to put on and can’t figure out how to get this barrel nut off without damaging anything.

I guess you can cut it with a dremel or something. Just dont slip.
Or of you have really big wrenches you could grind some flats and then use a wrench.

Okay guys, I did one of the stupidest/idiotic things one could do. I went ahead and went to academy and bought an amorer’s wrench. However, my stupid self tried to take the barrel nut off before taking the gas block and gas tube assembly off. Now my gas tube is bent. I’ve tried hammering it back straight but I’m not sure how it’ll last. Has this happened to anybody?

Most gas tubes have a bend like that. Sure it wasn’t like that before you took it off?

I most definitely bent it. I’m aware of the bend towards the middle of the tube. This is a little closer towards the end thy goes into the upper receiver. I took a dead blow hammer and tried to bend it back. It never linked so I’m hoping it’ll work. I’m gonna check a local place tomorrow to see if the have any instock.
ETA: it’s a carbine length tube. It bent pretty easily from the barrel nut fiasco but I can’t bent it for the life of me with a set of pliers.

Does academy sell gas tubes?
Lol

It seems my local academy sells everything but upper receiver parts. A shame really.
