It's actually really light considering its a piston gun. It's much lighter than my Larue PredatOBR 556. It's 7.25 lbs empty.

That's nuts, I thought those were way heavier.

I'd want one in 308 though

Anyone know if you receive an actual stamp in the mail once your eform is approved? Or is your only copy the one you print from the website. Thanks

So you are supposed to make a copy and keep it with you wherever the NFA item goes, correct?

How long it normally take after approval for Dealer to receive stamp? A week or so?

I didn't even get that, just a notification that it was approved. Assumed I would receive one in the mail, but I finally just logged in and saw an option to view and print my form.

I bought the 17S first. It is IMO one of the finest battle rifles out there. Super light for a 7.62 ,accurate and just all around badass. If I had to keep only one gun it would be the SCAR 17. I added a Gisselle trigger and the VLTOR stock(OEM stock sucks) and the MREX MLOK rail. I am going to ahve PMM chop the barrel just like I had them do on my 16. Also changing out the Insight light for a surefire M300. Waiting on it to come in now.

I know they aren't cheap but they are getting harder to find and wanted to get one in case Hillary gets the nod in November. I paid $2800 for the Rifle back in June. They are selling on GB for $3500-$4000 not that I would sell it but I could easily get my money back if I needed.

What's the appeal of the SCAR? I've never held or shot one so I'm generally curious.

Yes. Picture of the stamp is acceptable as well. I print out a copy and stuff it in my grip

That's what I've been told. All I know is they look like a serious weapon.

Earlier in the WOT, several firearms manufacturers strove to make an improved rifle compared to the M4. Hk made the 416 and 417 and FN has the SCAR. Couple others tried their hand but little to zero success like Bushmaster/Remington ACR.

Basically, everyone tried to reinvent the M16/M4...most of them by adding a piston to it
