I prefer the red dot myself but man does it look bad when the conditions are right. Think of the dot as the sun and there is a huge solar flair extending to the outer edge at 10-11oclock.

Have you looked at DKX lightweight options?

So this may just be my OCD, but I'm trying to keep lower and upper from the same company. Just frustrated since PSA seems to be out of stock of their stripped or complete uppers.

Anyone run into trouble with different manufacturers of upper/lower receivers? I would imagine that there shouldn't be but just looking at options to finish my build. I might get a full upper assembly without the bcg or charging handle, but I want to assemble the entire build

I'm sure there is some, but I had a spikes lower with a off the wall generic upper. My upper wasn't marked at all.

That's because you have an astigmatism. You need an etched prism glass.

I had a friend who didn't know he had astigmatism until he bought an Aimpoint. He found out that if he flipped up his rear sight and looked through the large peep through the optic his eyes could suddenly get the red dot to focus. So that's how he runs it now. Co-witnessed with the rear sight flipped up but the front sight flipped down. Says it works for him and he can ring the 8" steel at 100 with it.

Either the Velocity Systems API-BZ which look to stop pretty much everything or Tyr level III+ plates. We wear point blank vests, so the speed plate plus are also something I may consider. Need them to be 8x10 to fight in the front and back pockets of my issued vest.

Anyone happen to have a good link with info on a step by step of how to go about filing for a SBR tax stamp for a rookie? I'd like to apply for one.

I'm bumping my question to the top since I still have some confusion and never saw any answers. I found a step by step on bayou shooter but it appears to be extremely outdated. Any links to information on this or anyone wanna give me a quick run down of what I need to do?

ATF Form 1
ATF Certificate of Compliance
Fingerprints
2 Passport Style Photos
LEO Signature

Am I on the right track? Since the E-File system is down, do you think I should just mail the forms in? Or would it be better to wait for the E-file system to come back up?

Yea I had read about that too recently...that or one with a 1x magnification. The cheep T25 is ok if I keep the brightness down but i may look for a etched one to see how that works for me.

I have an astigmatism in both eyes and reflex sights look fine to me. Holographic sights on the other hand look real blurry to me. I haven't looked through a prism yet. It's weird how so many people see these sights differently.

It is...imagine my surprise when i went to a store and looked through a aimpoint pro and bought it....then got home mounted it on my gun and went wtf is that . I thought I broke it on the way home. If I look straight on (off the gun) its perfect...as my cheek approaches the stock it blooms out to the upper left.

Very crudely this is what I see. The flair part is not as bright as the dot so when i put it on the lower settings I can see the dot but the flair is not as visible.

I cleaned up your crude sketch to make it more accurate.
