That's what I'm leaning towards. 10.5"

Do you think ASR mount Would work if I put a 10" handguard on a 10.5" barrel? Or will the can sink into the rail too much to be able to lock it on?

Im torn between 9 and 10" handguard.

You should be good with a 10"

I went with a 9" rail on my 10.5" just to be safe and it still looks great

Bravo Company KMR.

Go with a 9". Looking at my gun without the can, i dont think I could've gotten away with a 10" handguard

You have any complaints about that rail? Any others you recommend me looking at?

I have the aluminum/magnesium variant. It's very lightweight and I love the texture, but it's not as robust as a solid aluminum rail. I don't like the way the KMR Alpha feels though

Check out the MLOK offerings from Midwest Industries and SLR. I'll probably go with an SLR for my next build.

That's what I'm running on my lightweight build, it's about the lightest combo you can get.

It really depends on what company you go with, some are advertised at a certain length and are not precisely that actual length. I have an 8" SLR rail on a 9" barrel, and there's no way I could go a half inch shorter on the rail. Many manufacturers list the actual top rail length of their handguards on their site, so you could measure your setup before hand to insure it would fit. SLR actually makes some options these days at a length that is suppose to get as close to your suppressor as possible (for instance, 10.7" options for 11.5" barrels).
ETA: pic of mine, very little room remaining between suppressor and rail

This. It's never exactly as advertised, so I generally play it safe

MI has a great 10.5" complete M-lok upper I've been eyeing.

I saw that SLR makes a 9.7" that's suppsedly exactly 9.7... I think that would be fine for a 10.5".

I started on the last page and went back 60+ pages just scrolling and looking at the pictures you guys have posted. I'm kind of hooked and I don't even have one yet.

Does the "OB culture and FAQ: part deux" thread have an 800 number to call if I feel like I might become an AR-15 addict?

I want to start a build in 5.56/.223. How is this stripped lower? I'm ipen to suggestions, but a hunting buddy sent me that one earlier. Are stripped lowers pretty standard across the manufactures?

Anderson lowers are just fine. If they have the version with the trigger guard built in for the same price I would suggest getting that one instead. Installing the trigger guard is really the only part of building a lower that you can actually damage the lower if you don't do it right. It saves a little headache. Not to say installing a trigger guard it hard but you do have to be careful. Only reason not to have a built in trigger guard is if you shoot a lot with heavy winter gloves.

It's getting a little tough to find a 10.5" barrel out there...
