I was offered one in good condition for $300. Is this a good deal?

Picture of gun in question:

Assuming it's in good shape that's a very good deal. I sold a used 92FS for $550 more than a year ago and it sold in 20 minutes on bayou shooter.

Whether you can find 40 cal ammo is a different story...

If it's in good shape, damned good deal. I paid $585 for my Beretta 96 Brigadier Inox when I bought it a few years ago.

I love mine. I did replace the recoil rod in mine though with a metal one and I changed my main spring to lessen the trigger pull some.

I hate this platform and even I'll tell you this is one hell of a deal. (As long is it's in decent condition)

I'm a Beretta owner as well. I have two different uppers for my Beretta in both 9mm and 40. I actually bought my 40 upper from a guy and paid 275 for it so you're getting a hell of a deal.

One thing to know about the 40 S&W cartridge is that this platform was not designed for it. So while this is still pretty comfortable platform, the 40 has a bit more snap than the 9mm.

But I still love the gun and its my home defense piece so obviously I like it.

Sounds like a damn good price to me. I shoot an M9 better than any other semi auto I've shot.

One of my favorites...

I got it coated in Cerakote Coyote Tan at On Target guns in Kenner. John Gauthier, the owner, was a pleasure to work with and is a very nice guy. He did the barrel and frame for $165 and I think it was worth every penny. This was a picture of it hot off the press...

That thing is beautiful

Q: Made in USA vs Made in Italy. I plan on getting the USA M9 but I was wondering if there is a huge advantage of one over the other

Like everyone else said, it's a great deal, assuming it's in decent shape. Are you going to run the serial #?

Chad is close in his opinion.

My 90 two, which has been discontinued, was ONLY made in Italy. But the finish is good and the fit and finish is good.

The Vertec 96 upper in that picture is actually made by Beretta USA. The machining had a bit harder edges, but besides that, it's still put together well.

The biggest giveaway as to what country it was manufactured in is to look at the dust cover. If it's straight, it's Italian and if it's angled, it's American.

I figured "made in Italy" was the biggest giveaway

I guess if the buyer can read, that helps.

But aesthetically, the dust cover is the easiest to notice.

I see the dust cover difference but you really have to look to notice
