If you have a boat unhook all your tie down straps except bow.

If water comes up fast unless you are a combat swimmer - you wasn't getting this straps off

Tie up your trailer - it will float away w boat

Set condition papa delta

My aunt and uncle are off Greenwell Springs rd in Magnolia Bend subdivision. They are upstairs and the water is creeping up the staircase. Called for rescue but were told it'll be a while. Anybody in that area with a boat?

I sure appreciate the offer, but it looks like the water is slowly dropping at my house. Hopefully the worst is over for me. There are so many who aren't as lucky.

I do have a boat at GS marine in Monticello though. Anyone have an idea how high the water is there?

Thanks for the helpful response dude.

Again, any idea if it's feasible to use a fiberglass boat to try and help? If so where would I begin. I have tried the emergency line but it is busy.

There is a reason that the boats you see picking people up are small aluminum boats, they don't draw much, you can launch them anywhere and they won't get beat up traveling over the streets. If I had a bay boat, I would probably stand pat. Even if you could find a good place to launch it, you will beat up the hull running over concrete/asphalt.

That's just my opinion however. I believe Livingston Parish sheriff was looking for boats, might want to give them a ring. They might have a different idea.

Still steady falling in Thibodaux but not as fast as yall I-12 people are getting it. Thank god they dredged the 60 arpent canal this week. It's already full (20' deep) but flowing good into the swamp. This is a picture of a drainage canal running through my lease. It's over the banks and 1' from the bridge.
Swamps are full, retention ponds across the street is full. If it stays steady i expect it to rise tonight. Starting to rise into my back yard now.
Bayou Lafourche is over the boat launch that sticks 3-4' out the water. It's almsot to hwy 1

I doubt I can get to anyone way on i-12 but I have a pirogue and 4x4 4-wheeler with a snorkel haha

While generally a bad idea, I would consider calling 911. They will probably be able to put you in touch with someone. I heard they had trouble earlier because the office flooded, but they are relocated and up and running now.

My parents are stranded in Evergreen hills. Their house had never flooded before.

Step dad has MS and is confined to a wheelchair. No help yet.
