I think we should have a point system for quality ducks. Pintails and mallards gotta b more valuable than folks killin trash birds.

Catagories could look somethin like this:
1:
Canvasbacks, Mallards, Pintails
2:
Teal
3:
Ringneck, BuffHead, Goose
4:
Everything else: spoons, meganz, coots, crows, buzzards

Extra points for predator/nuisance kills

Disagree. A duck is a duck.
I say a pouldeau should be 0.06667pts/bird
Mallard = 1.5 pts
Pintail = 3 pts
Wood duck = 2 pts
Grey duck /wegion /teal etc = 1 pt

Aka the bird is worth the number you're allowed to shoot over the total limit

I'm in and will win on just shooting pouledeau and nutrias. Nutrias get 5 dollars a tail. I can kill 15 pouledeau every day for the whole damn season.

If we extend this into the snow goose conservation season I have a chance. Otherwise I'm screwed this year.

I think the scoring should be left kinda easy. We're talking about scoring a lot bigger numbers than the deer.

Hat, by your method the dos gris would be worth more than a mallard. I don't think that equates. I think upping the Mallard, Pins, Woodies, and Cans to 2 points would keep it simple and still give weight the prize birds

But keeping the birds equal would allow everyone in all parts of the state to compete even though they may not see the woodies or big ducks regularly. I thought the .2 points for the poule deaux was fair at a 3 point limit. They will get tired of cleaning 15/day (and run out of freezer room)

Maybe we could come up with a prize. I'm sure I have something laying around not being used. Or I could order a stupid $10 trophy

Well I have the advantage considering everyone else has jobs and school to keep them busy, I can hunt 7 days a week if I want to.

The only thing that might get in the way of duck hunting is deer hunting or fishing.
