Good. I'd love a gently used Bluetooth ulterra

Garmin just announced their new one today as well, Garmin seems to be a predator playing with their food at this point

I got the opposite impression. Maybe it's the cord or the base throwing me off but it looks bad.

I'm not spending that for some fuzzy, unsubstantiated percentages and a redesigned mount.

Garmin is like apple. As long as you adopt their entire system, it is great. Don’t try to mix and match. I have the force and the livescope. I love it. Much better than my buddy’s old fortrex with lowrance and livescope. His just seems so disjointed.

I have a Terrova 112 36V and Garmin MFD. Next boat I will definitely look at the Kraken if I can fully integrate with my plotter. That would be worth a lot to me.

I’ve run a MK Ulterra for about 5 years. Had my first issues with the self deploy last trip. Have since replaced some plastic parts and now know how to install the deploy belt and motor (motor mount had cracked casing).

Looking back I think I’d go with a manual deploy, the auto trim is really nice, but it’s definitely one more thing that can break.

Also learned to be vigilant when in spot lock near jetties and rough conditions, mine dropped out (ended up being a low power/bad ground) and was almost an OH shite moment by the time I realized.

Had never had this happen before, just a heads up.

I talked with my rep at Johnson Monday and he was all fired up about this new trolling motor. Basically said they took the feedback they got from the past few years and beefed up the areas of need.

We will see. I like that they are trying to improve the current design instead of starting all over.

I have Garmin(2), Lowrance(1) and a Motorguide TM. I would not change a thing.

I can see the benefit of mixing some of them for very specific advantages, but for simplicity’s sake, the all garmin route was the most attractive to me. But oatmeal chocolate cookies are my favorite as well.

It is to a lot of people. The foot control is a deal breaker for me due to how I fish. I absolutely have to have cable steer, and I do not use any features requiring a connection between a graph and a TM. Many do, and I get that.
