The legs will extend up another 2-3 feet . I’m prefabing the box to make it easier to trailer it to the lease then to the place to set it up . I’ll name it The Hilton . Can’t wait to hunt with my son in it .

You need a taller ladder to actually climb up. The rings need to go up past where you get it.

Thanks for that . I’ve got more bracing also. The legs will telescope with 6x6pads that swivel so it will be ok on uneven ground . I’ll spike them and have some guide wire for stability . The frame is 5x6 and should be comfortable for 2 .

The angle is 1.1/2 . the square tube is 1 1/2 and 1 1/4 . Floor will be 1/2 treated plywood , sides foam board with 4x8 exterior sIding . Thinking on clear corrugated fiberglass for roof . I’m using piano hinges for the plexiglass windows on the front and sides . Shelves under the windows with cup and gun holders , etc .

Nice, it will be like the Hilton once it's out there, you and the boy will love it. A few years ago we replaced every stand we had with 4x6 box stands we built. Don't regret it one bit. We can hunt in the rain and stay dry plenty of space for two to hunt. My boys love them.

I had the same except it was about 10 ft tall. I used foam board, the wasp/ hornets would eat into the foam board and nest there. I discovered that opening morning one year, very unnerving hearing hundreds of those bastards crawling around in the walls
It was my fault though, I had several layers of foam board glued on top of each other on the walls.

I don’t know if I’d do the clear roof. Wouldn’t it illuminate the inside and make you stand out. I try to keep my boxes as dark as possible. I actually paint the walls behind me a dark color. Don’t know if it helps or not.

What do you suggest to use to insulate it with . I’m also trying to stay away from heavy stuff .

You’re right as far as illuminating the inside . I was thinking of getting the smoke colored plexiglass for the widows . What you think of the green roofing ? I’ve got some 12x12 foam squares I had in my garage that will go on the floor .

Not only that, but it will get hot as all hell in there. I wouldn't go with a clear roof. Other than that, looks good.

Me too. Everything window level and above is painted black. I think it absolutely helps. It’s not uncommon for me to have 10+ deer within 30 yards as I’m not good at sitting still.

Don’t make the windows too big. That was the mistake I made and I feel way too exposed. Carpet at least the floors.

I'm about midway through my own version of the Hilton. 8x8 platform with angled corner walls in the front. 4x1 vertical windows for archery. Built 4x4 storage underneath. Full size exterior metal door.

Still need to add the 36 inch wide steps. And the deer view windows.
