Never trust a 16' extension ladder...

All I remember is fallin with the ladder, bouncin off the tractor and then bouncin off the ground. Can't see the black eye and hide scraped off both shin bones almost to the bone. Gonna pay a whippersnapper to clean out them gutters next time...

I did. Doc said it was a deep bruise and hematoma (sp?) and excellent example of being stubborn.
He also said I was lucky, too. Mama BFIV went into more detail.

Dayummm
I got on my roof back in the summer, not sure of the pitch...but when I picked both hands up to do some nailing, my fat slippery arse started heading down and there was nothing I could do about it. Luckily I was slip sliding away nice and slow and when I got to the gutter, my foot planted in it was enough to stop me and not tear the gutter out.
I got my butt on that ladder, got down, and decided I got to call folks from now on!
If you right handed, the Mrs is going to have to take care of you for a couple of days

Doc found a smaller bruise on my back right there close to the short ribs. He poked it with his finger and said, "Does that hurt?". I hollered back and said, "Dang straight, that hurts!". Then he said, "That's because that rib is cracked, but only just a little. It'll feel better when it quits hurtin." Must be that doctor type sense of humor?

Dayummmmm man. Surely he gave you something to help with the pain? The bad thing is, it's gonna hurt worse for the next couple of days. At least that's my experience.
Glad it wasn't worse man. I know a man who fell if a roof at about 18', he's now legally blind. Broke every bone in his face, both wrists and both ankles. I was about 14 when it happened and ill never forget what he looked like while in ICU.
