Nitto and Toyo are the same company
I've run Nitto Ridge Grapplers for the last 5 years on a 5th Gen 4R overland build and they look great, they wear incredibly well, the stay balanced (unlike a lot of A/T and R/T tires) they're not overly loud on the highway.
Like any A/T or R/T they're scary on wet pavement.
It's time for new tires and I have some more aggressive off road trips planned for 26 so I'm moving to an R/T, probably the Toyo Open Country Trail.
Discount Tire is the only place to purchase an A/T or R/T tires which require a road force balance.

Correct, Toyo is the parent company and Nitto is a subsidiary brand.

Toyo RT Trail have been really good. Pretty agressive for an AT but very quiet.

Thats what i put on my 2009 crew cab tacoma. Looks very aggresive. Had Nitto Grapplers, but love the Toyo RT Trails far more.

Yokohama Geolanders here.
Have them on two of my vehicles and been happy with them.

Wife has Toyos on her 2500 and they’ve been pretty good too.

Nitro Ridge Grapplers 255/80-17 but switching to the same size Recon grappler. I just got 85k out of a set on my wrangler JK doing regular 5 tire rotations.

My Toyota Tacoma came with Toyo’s from the factory. Put 60,000 on them. Went to Discount Tire, put MICHELIN
DEFENDER LTX M/S2 265/70R17.
I have 85,000 on them now, at last tire rotation, the guy said, “You still have a green light as to tire wear!” I’ll easily get 90,000 to 100,000 on them.

How's the ride quality with the 255/80/17?

I've been thinking about going to that size on my Ford Ranger, but unsure if E load range tires will ride too rough on a lighter vehicle.

I've been running Recon Grapplers on my Tundra. After some cheap mud tires previously, they have been heavenly!!!!
I haven't been rotating them enough and the fronts are wearing faster but that's my fault not the tire.

Appreciate all the feedback.

Ended up going with the Toyo Open Country RT Trails. Bit more aggressive than I was thinking but man they are way quieter than I was anticipating.
