I am hoping someone can help me out. My wife has a new litter of poodle puppies and we are looking for duck wings for them to play with. So if any of you have a few duck wings that are cut off when you clean your birds I would like a few if possible. I live in Natchez. Thanks

I have a separate question. Have you ever bred your poodle to a lab?

Nope and that’s an abomination in the dog show world. My wife’s poodles have done very well in a short time being shown. Her poodles are seriously world class and would never be doodled as this would discredit her. I use to train and breed labs and I thought they were very respectable in the hunt test and retrieving world but her poodles are so much farther ahead. She would be ostracized if one of her males or females were bred to another breed. She has relationships across the country and a few internationally that would be gone if that would happen. Her litter now comes from her top ten bitch that has produced many extremely nice pups in the past.

You sound like this.

What the frick did you just fricking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills.

I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the frick out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fricking words.

You think you can get away with saying that shite to me over the Internet? Think again, fricker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fricking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands.

Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable arse off the face of the continent, you little shite. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fricking tongue.

But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shite fury all over you and you will drown in it.

You’re fricking dead, kiddo.

I don’t understand, you just want them for the puppies or you want to train them to retrieve ducks eventually?

I would use them to entice the puppies to want to retrieve birds. Wings are light and have a good scent that triggers a prey drive that can be channeled into retrieving game. And yes eventually retrieving ducks.

I can't say for certain, but I feel like when I was a kid some of the old timers that I duck hunted with told me stories about a guy on the lake who hunted with a poodle (whatever the big poodle breed is called). I could be mixing up memories, but I really want to say that some people do that. Is that a thing?

Poodles were originally bred to be retrievers. They have an interesting history-back in the market hunting days on the East coast they were the most popular breed used for retrieving. They are also considered to be one of the smartest breed of dogs there is.

Nope,I’ve never watched Duck Dynasty, their old funky beards gross me out.I have an AKC book that profiles all breeds of dogs that are recognized by AKC.
I used to be a fan of Troy Landry, watched the alligator hunters for a few years, not sure if it is still on.

I’ve got a standard poodle. One of the easiest dogs to train basic commands. He is very very birdy and loves retrieving. I have taken him on a few wood duck shoots by myself and he did good enough for no training.

Poodles are gun dogs and they do not shed. I love me a black lab and have never hunted anything but labs but if something were to happen to mine before I get too old to hunt and I need another retriever I am going with a standard poodle...super smart, driven...and they do not shed. I swear we sweep and vacuum enough black hair in the house to coat three dogs a week...I love that damned dog and she is part of the family but if I ever need another retriever Im going with a poodle...

Agreed. I have seen plenty of weird people in thaT arena. Some super rich and others that just common folk. I personally wish that breeding doodles would not cause such a stir because we could make money doing that and not spend so much money doing shows. The goal my wife is trying to achieve is to get well structured poodles with clear health to compete in the retriever world.I guess to go back to their roots
